Dining plan with no tickets?

I was trying to see the pricing of a room and the dining plan with no tickets but that doesn't seem to be that option. As soon and I get rid of the tickets the dining plans are no longer there. We already have tickets and don't want to buy more.I understand that you have to buy tickets when you go on free dining but it doesn't make sense if you are paying for dining.

Dining plans are only available as part of "package plans" that include room + tickets (one day minimum) + dining plan.

The only exceptions are for annual pass holders (requires making a room + dining plan "package", subject to normal package rules about payments) and DVC guests who are staying on points.

Thanks, that makes our decision easy. No dining plan for us. I did some number crunching and we were not saving much with the plan anyway. If we have to buy 1 day tickets it would acctually be more expensive.

You can always save the 1-day pass and upgrade it to a longer pass when you need it.

The only types of guests who have the option to buy the dining plan without also buying tickets as part of a package are annual passholders, DVC members, and military guests using the military room discount. Everyone else must purchase at least a one-day base ticket for all party members age 3 or over as part of their package.

Acctually the more I think about it not being on the dining plan is probably good for us. I had planned on having tea at GF and checking out the character breakfast at the Swan both of which are not on the plan. Plus we are really more appetizer than dessert people. Another thing is the last time we visited we left with 2 unused CS credits and that was after getting sandwiches from Earl for the plane.

I feel good that the decision is made for us and I won't feel the pressure at ordering to ensure we are getting our moneys worth. Something I can't seem to help doing.

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel using the Family & Friends Rate offered to Florida-Site Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies are generally not eligible to add the Disney Dining Plan or other Magic Your Way Meal Plan to their reservations.

On occassion, however, the Walt Disney World Company will offer a discounted Disney Dining Plan that can be added to Cast Reservations. Information on these deals are generally communicated through internal sources. Though I can tell you that there are none currently occuring for Family & Friend Rates.
