Dining plan with DVC

Thank you both. I do not want to eat at the Yachtsman for lunch. I want to eat somewhere on the Boardwalk for lunch and then the Yachtsman for dinner.
I never purchased the dining plan before. If I purchased the plan for each member (3 of us), wouldn't we have 3 dining credits to use for dinner?

You would need three credits each to do that so you'd have to buy the Deluxe Dining Plan. The plan costs 71.99 per adult and also includes two snacks and a refillable mug for each person. You can look at the menus here to see if that makes sense for you to purchase the plan or if you'd be better off paying out of pocket.

Yes, starting this year (2011) the dining plan must be paid when adding the plan, no longer at check in. We are arriving Friday (BLT) and because I made my reservations prior to change I am paying at check in. I was told that had I made any changes I would be required at that time to pay for dining plan.

You do now pay when you add it but you can wait and add it later, as long as you do it at least 48 hours prior to your trip.

It doesn't really impact making ADR's except for those few places and dinner shows (ie: CRT, Hoop Dee Do, etc.) that will charge your credit card immediately when you book.

If you want to go to one of those and have not yet added the DDP to your reservation, they will charge your card. When you go for the reservation, just tell them you are on the DDP and your CC will be refunded.

Just so you know, MS will not take someone else's credit card information from you, the member.

I believe it has to done as a 3 way conference call, or you have to pay using gift cards or your own card.

I sure hope I can use gift cards. She asked for them for Christmas because its her first time going with her husband and kids.

Yes, those you will be able to give to MS when you call to add it and pay!
