Sorry if this was posted elsewhere but I tried searching and couldn't find anything recent on it. My DH and I are first-time AP holders, and we are planning a DVC trip for Sept 2008 with my DD and my parents who are not AP holders.

My question is: can we add the dining plan to our whole party? I've heard all different things about having to purchase MYW packages to get the dining plan and I'm not sure how it works out for our situation. Does anyone know how this will work?

Thanks in advance!

If you are staying on points, you can add the dining plan without passes.

Since you are AP holders, you are eligible for the Disney Dining Experience(DDE) for $65. Only one person has to get it and the whole table (up tp 8 people I believe) gets the discount of 20%. Depending on where you eat, this may be the most advantageous option.

If you are DVC member and you get the AP, you still can get the DDP?? I wasn't sure that was allow. I just wanted to make sure that was allow and can you get it for all the days you are staying there. Just checking because I am still a little confused about all of this.:confused3

Yes, the DVC DDP plan does not require an accompanying ticket purchase (if you are staying on points). You still have to get it for all the people in your room and for all the days.

You can get DDP on any DVC points stay. That's a benefit of staying using points -- being a DVC member does not allow you to get DDP, nor does an AP. It's only the points stay that carries the benefit of being able to get DDP. Renters can also get the DDP, because they are also staying on points.

The only difference between the DVC points stay DDP and regular DDP is you don't have to buy park tickets. You still have to get it for everyone staying in the room for the entire duration of the reservation.

Thanks for the clarification!! Whew, thats a relief. We love the DDP!

Since you are a new poster, welcome!!!

And I wanted to remind you that there have been changes to the DDP for 2008. Server gratuity is no longer included, and on the standard DDP, no appetizers.
