I am interested in purchasing tickets from Undercover Tourist. When I priced things out on the Disney site it wouldn't let me purchase a dining package without purchasing park tickets through Disney. How do i get around this?

There are only two ways to get the dining plans without having to purchase tickets from Disney.
  1. Have an AP and book a "ticketless dining package". You need to have an annual pass and you cannot book this through the website. You must call to book this.
  2. Stay in a DVC resort on points, not a cash reservation.
There are no other work arounds.

If you book a room through Disney, you can call and add the dining plan. It changes your room to a ticket-less package. You can’t do it online though.

This is not true anymore. For the past two year or so, Disney has allowed all guests to purchase a “ticketless package” for just a room and dining plan. It’s. It available online, but they will book it for you over the phone.

Honestly, unless you have multiple kids under the age of 10, I'd skip the dining plan all together. The DDP is not meant to save you money and it is just as easy to pay out of pocket or use gift cards. I have done both and was happier paying oop than when we did use the DDP.

Yep, did it this past October. Had a room booked, got my tix through UT, and added dining.
