dining plan w/ a room-only discount?

Hi! Can I book a room-only discounted rate (FL resident) and add the dining package on?

I'm already booked at ASMo with free dining. They have no availability for an upgrade to POFQ with the free dining.

With a FL resident room-only rate, can I add the dining on and pay for it? It comes out about even with buying it as a package with free dining.

Anyone know?

To add dining you have to book package. If you already have tkts. you can add a 1 day pass per person and it becomes a package. I don't know why Disney won't let you just add dining with r/o.

darn. That would have worked out reasonably well. It's a shame because we would have been PAYING for the dining plan. my guess is that they only make money on the plan when people play rack rate for the rooms.
