Lets say I am in the MK and use my card for the plan to buy a CS or snacks. I am not using TS because I am sure there are safe guards in place. I leave my card laying on a table someone picks it up. What keeps that person from taking the card to a CS and buying food? Also are you limited to the number of people on your reservation to the number of CS meals you can get at one time or within a certain time period? Say I buy 3CS (people in party) on card and leave it laying around 15 mins later someone finds it and buys 4CS with it. Could that happen assuming the credits are on the card?

There is no time limit between transactions. Keep your receipts and if there is ever a discrepancy, your resort concierge can help you fix it.

Technically, yes.

Like PP stated, keep your receipts. Then if there is a problem, someroom at your resort should be able to help you sort it out.

We've gone many times and used our KTTW card for everything. We've never misplaced them. Also, I'm pretty sure you can have a child's card deactivated for purchases, where it would only be good for park admission and entering your room.

Lastly, in every giftshop they sell lanyards. I got a hard plastic waterproof one that has a great closing seal. I keep all our cards in it and wear it around my neck. Very convenient.

Nothing. I don't recall them ever asking for ID to make sure it matches the name on the card. Be sure you don't lose your card, and if you do, report it missing and have a new one issued at your resort. And keep all your receipts.

In this scenario the person who finds it could buy 3 CS meals.

You can have any KTTW you want designated ineligible for charging privileges. But you can't remove the DDP credit access.

As your KTTW card is generally your hotel key, DDP credit access, park ticket, and in some cases resort charging card, it is vital that you protect it as much as you would your personal credit card.

No one should be able to use the tickets, at least, due to the biometric scans, but you could be down some DP credits and some $$$ charged to your room if you leave a card laying around unattended. Getting those charges reversed would likely be as annoying of a process as getting unauthorized charges removed from a lost/stolen credit card.

Why would you leave your card laying on the table in any way, different than a credit card? Just like paying for a meal with a credit card.. the waiter takes the card, and then brings it back.

Afraid that the CM waiter is going to ring up extra meals?

Since the KTTW has dining privileges and charging privileges on it that anyone could access, you need to treat the KTTW card as you would treat money. Don't leave it on a table. Major No-No. Use it, then put it away immediately. Since Disney has cameras everywhere, it's possible security could see who used it the card fraudulently and track them down, if they are con artists known to Disney.

I wouldn't leave it laying around was seeing if they had safe guards in place to allow only the card holder to use. I heard something about the fingerprint technology and didnt know if you pressed your finger each time you bought food or something. So based on the info here if you had people meeting you at the park on your last day and had extra CS meals or snacks you could technically buy their food for them with the extra credits?

According to Disney's literature, you may not use your credits to purchase food for anyone who is not on your room reservation or dining plan.

That's what the DIS Restaurant Board goes by. Discussion of possibly using the credits to buy meals for others will be deleted. If that is what this thread was really about I will need to close it. But I do think it is worthwhile to make sure you keep track of your KTTW card.

Protect your KTTW Card at all costs....especially if you have authorized charging on it. It's just like a credit card.
