Dining Plan Refund?

I understand the DVC cancellation policy, but if we have the dining plan and have to cut our trip short once we're already there, can we get a refund on the dining plan for meals not used?

I don't think so- I don't think even if you were on a cash package and cut your trip short they would refund the difference.

Since the DVC dining plan operates no differently than the "regular" dining plan, I'm moving this to the Dining Plan Forum to get more responses.

No, this may be a good reason to segment the reservation.

Unused credits are forfeited.

if you know a few days in advance, you may consider changing your ADRs to two credit meals or dinner shows (where gratuity is included) to use up the credits...

NO!!! and I know from experience! In Jan. our trip was cut short unexpectedly after arriving, Disney did refund the 1 night on our room, however we lost a day's worth of tickets and meals! I tried to get refund on meals, or even credit towards our upcoming trip before leaving and after returning home, and it was a resounding No. Every cm at every level responded I'm sorry there are no refunds on meals unless you have the insurance, and then you'll need to contact your insurance company....

Follow the advice from others above, segment your ressies, or find some double credit meals and make ADR's for them if at all possible.
