dining plan question

Good evening everyone...
Just a quick question...well, maybe a few quick questions.. I have booked my room at POP for the end of June. I am contemplating whether to add the Dining Plan or not but I need a bit more info and I know you guys would know the answer.
This is a trip for just me and my son, who will be celebrating his 10th birthday at WDW....
Anyways, I am wondering if I am able to add the Dining Plan to my hotel reservations, or should I have done that when I booked the room? Also, whenever we have gone to Disney before, we have mostly eaten counter service meals.....actually we seldom eat at table-service restaurants.... ...weird, huh?! Anyways....can I exchange table service credits for counter service credits? So instead of 1 counter service, 1 table service and 1 snack, we would have 2 counter service and 1 snack....is that possible?

Hi, I am going to be at Pop at the end of June with DD3 and DS6 and we have the dining plan. It will be our "we made it through a horrible divorce" celebration!

You can call back and add the dining plan to your reservation. It shouldn't be a problem unless you wait until the last few days.

You can't exchange counter service for table service. I think that there have been a very very few exceptions. Don't count on that. If you want to mostly eat CS, then don't get the DP. If you are getting the DP, then you need to make your ADR's right away.

If you feel you need to exchange table service credits for counter service, then the dining plan is most likely not for you if you are looking to save money. The value of the plan comes from judicious use of the table service credits.
