This is my first time using the dining plan. So I've got all my ts ADR's figured out to be booked on the 26th. But my question is this, what do you do about breakfast? We are on the plan that gives you a cs, snack, and ts each day. We're staying at Pop so we won't have a refridgerator in the room. Do you normally book a couple breakfasts and pay out of pocket at some table service places? Or do you grab something from the food court? I'm not a real big breakfast person but my boyfriend is. I don't mind paying out of pocket if you think we would then be hungry for our table service dinners.

here is my plans for adr's:

Chef Mickey's (either MK day or morning we leave)
Sci Fi Diner (Dinner MGM night)
Le Cellier (Dinner 1st Epcot night)
Coral Reef (Dinner 2nd Epcot night)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (Dinner MK day)

Our Park Plans:
22: check in/down town
23: Magic Kingdom
24: Animal Kingdom/MGM
25: Epcot
26: MGM/Epcot

We are not big breakfast people either. When we went in August and had the dining plan, we also stayed at Pop. What we did, was had a one character breakfast. We also used snack credits at Pop and got a box of 8 donuts. One snack credit for 8 donuts. Some people use their snack credits at the Bakery at Magic Kingdom for breakfast items. We found that having a counter service meal and a table service meal was more than enough each day. We usually had lunch around 11 so that kind of helped with the morning hungries. Enjoy your trip!!!

We tend to bring some healthy snacks for both breakfast and during the day.

Instant oatmeal pkgs (don't forget to bring bowls and spoons) actually work reasonably well with hot tap water. Nuts are compact and won't make a mess if they get squished. We've also tended to bring a loaf of bread and peanut butter.

You can also collect food as you go.

At some of the counter services they will allow you to substitute carrots (from the kids meal) for fries. The carrots are in a sealed bag and can be eaten whenever you need a snack. You can occasionally get some breakfast-like baked goods for your counter service snack. Save this for tomorrow morning.

Use your snack credits wisely.

Visit a bakery in the morning for a "snack" (i.e. breakfast). We found that two snacks made a great breakfast. Fruit and yogurt, or grapes and croissant, etc. Since you only have 1 snack/day you can't have this breakfast daily (unless you skip it and your boyfriend uses both credits) but you could both do it every other day.

You'll basically want to do one of two things w/ your CS's....

If your dinner is LATE, go ahead and get a CS meal for lunch - it's A LOT of food no matter where you go. and for breakfast just grab something quick and OOP at the food court at your resort.

If your dinner is EARLY, use your CS for a big breakfast at and eat a light lunch or snack OOP.

If you are interested in a TS breakfast, I personally recommend Crystal Palace....

Well, we had a fridge at POR, so we had breakfast in the room...milk and/or OJ with a muffin or donut. We then had an early CS lunch and a TS in the evening.

You can also think about using your snack credits for breakfast.

The 3 of us (me, DH, and DD8) brought Pop Tarts, granola bars, and juice boxes for breakfasts and ate in the room some mornings. Some other days, we shared one adult b'fast platter in the AM, then used 1 adult and 1 child credit for lunch. If we needed, we rounded out meals with a snack credit (I can eat a big pretzel and be happy for lunch).

We did a character b'fast one day, but at the latest scheduled time, so it served as b'fast AND lunch. We did a mid afternoon snack, then ate an early dinner.

We felt like we got so much food with the DDP, that we didn't need to spend any extra OOP money on "3rd meals".

I've even heard of folks getting their desserts to go in the evenings, and eating them for b'fast in the morning.

The hardest part of DDP is trying to eat that dessert you get with every meal. Try to get cookies or muffin type desserts to go with your CS meals and they can double up as breakie in the morning. Get the refillable mugs and you are all set. After a 7 day trip we ended up with 5 extra CS credits and 12 snack credits. In hind site, we could have shared a breakfast plater and one snack(danish, muffin etc.) every other morning. We did the donuts on the first morning and it took us 4 days to eat an 8 pack!(really sweet and cakey)

What we usually do is use the CS for a big breakfast at the food court, use the snack for a light lunch and then book a TS dinner. But if you are not big breakfast eaters, you can use snack option for a small carton of milk and a single serving box of cold cereal. For using the snack option as a lunch, you could use 1 to get a big bag of chips, another for a box of doughnuts, and others for bottled water or juice and take them into the park or just use them at the food carts in the parks for chips or popcorn etc. With my family, after eating the big breakfast and getting involved in the rides and attractions in the parks, lunch time flies right past and before you know it we are " starving " just in time for dinner.

I would like to have a big breakfast in the morning using a quick service credit. What would be my best option?? I don't like the "Adult Breakfast Platter" but would like more Bagel,Sandwiches and/or Muffins. If I look at the menu of Riverside Mill, I only see these items as seperate items (I could buy with a snack credit) but not a platter(I could buy with a quick service credit) that contains a few of these items.
Is there another restaurant which offers such a menu??
Or can I spend one quick service credit and buy 2 or more bagels with it?

You'd be surprised at the variety of breakfast items that you can get w/ your SNACK credits! Fruit cups, danishes/etc....

There is a thread under the dining/restaurant board that is dedicated to SNACKS and what you can get w/ those credits....

If the restaurant is a "Table Service" restaurant, they typically won't have items to get w/ a counter service credit....but I could be wrong on that.

my problem is, that I only have one Snack item per day. And only one Bagel for breakfast is not enough for me.
So I would rather spend a Counter Service meal and get a bigger breakfast. But I can not find a restaurant that offers a meal that contains bagels, sandwiches or rolls but only meals that contain waffles, scambled eggs and bacon.

is there any counter service restaurant that offers a meal containing such items as sandwich, rolls or bagels??
