Dining Plan Question?

I recently heard that tax was no longer included in the Disney Dining Plan does anyone know if that is correct? I am considering adding the dining plan for our May Trip and was trying to figure out which way to go?

When I last checked the www.disneyworld.com website, the tax and tip were included in the dining plan. Haven't heard anything about it not being included this year.

I forgot to mention how great the dining plan was. We were a family of four adults and one child. Our stay was for 10 days. We paid just a little over $800.00 for the plan. I saved our receipts to see how much money we would have actually spent. I forgot to save a bunch of our snack receipts but the total was over $1,400.00! Definitely worth our money.

We were also more open to trying restaurants we had never been to before. We also ordered food items we would have normally not ordered due to the price. Each of us would order a different appetizer, entree and dessert. That way, we could get a taste of everything.

Loved the dining plan so much we purchased it again this year.

Nothing has changed with regard to tax and gratuity and the Dining Plan.

I'd like to know how a family of 4 adults and one child can get the dining plan for 10 days for $800...????

$38.99 x 4 adults + $10.99 for 1 child= $166.95 per day x 10days = $1669.50

Me too! We are a family of 5 and we are paying around $1007 for our 6 night stay. I can't see how they would have gotten such a better deal?

Can you buy the dining plan without a resort package? Not sure how the pricing really works since this is our first trip, but we just booked for October through the Disney website.

Got 5 nights at POFQ with 6 day park hopper (no water parks/no exp. options). When I quoted the same stay w/dining plan it was $500.04 more. This looks like the dining plan for a family of four (2 adults/2 kids under 10) for 5 nights is about $100/day.

You ar correct DDP is $39 a day for an adult and $11 a day for a child.

It sounds like you have a package if you have a room and hopper tickets on the same reservation - so you can add the DDP to that.

But no you cannot buy the DDP without having a resort package...
