Dining Plan Question with Multiple Resv #'s

OK, I need some help here. I have a 10 day reservation in November at AKV / BCV. We had to waitlist for part of the reservation (Which came through) for AKV (so we now have two reservation numbers that are linked for our AKV stay)

When I called to make dining reservations today I was told that I could only make reservations for the first part of our AKV stay and had to wait to make reservations for the 2nd half of the stay because I was not within the 180 day window. They said even though the reservations are linked the second one acts like a new reservation and I will have to wait to book until the 180 day mark of that reservation number. Does anyone know if this is correct? It seems odd that if you have a stay at the same resort with linked reservations that you couldnt make reservations all at once. Thanks for your help!

I had 2 separate reservations booked with a short a few days off property in between. I was able to book 10 days out from the first reservation online with no problem. I was kind of surprised I was able to do this. Good luck.

Technically, it is completely correct. But, I'd call back and try again - sometimes this is the answer you get, and sometimes they let you make them all at once. It seems CM-dependent to me.

Thanks for the advice, I called back and booked through Disney Dining (instead of thru DVC) and they went ahead and made the reservation! It was especially important since the one I was getting hung up on was Thanksgiving!

I just did this last week and I have 3 different resort reservations for November also and I called Disney Dining, not DVC. They did make me call back at 180 days for each reserv. number. I got a different CM each time and they told me that the system would not let them put any more ressies in at the end of each one of those stays, unless they were just telling me that. Hmmmmm, makes me wonder

Can't you just do the 180+10 online using the ressie # when you first arrive ? Seems since the two ressies are linked there should not be a problem
