Dining Plan on split stay

We have a split stay coming up. We have the dining plan at the 2nd hotel, but not the 1st. On the day that we check-in to our 2nd hotel of the split stay we want use some credits at an 8AM breakfast. Does that mean we would have to physically check-in at our 2nd hotel prior to that 8AM breakfast?

In December we had breakfast before physically checking into our 2nd resort, BUT we had done online check in.

Can I piggyback onto this question? We have a split stay coming up and have the dining plan on both parts of our stay. If we do online check in for both, how do we make sure they use our unused credits on our check out day from the first resort that morning before pulling from the credits on the second?

To the OP, I've read that the credits are available as of 7 am on your check-in day but that you should do online check-in. If there is a problem, just charge the meal to your room and the concierge/front desk should be able to change it to credits when you physically check-in.

Oh, and I meant to add that I think you will have to be physically checked-out of your first hotel to activate the credits and charging privileges for hotel #2.

Also curious about this. You cannot physically check into your 2nd hotel until they system has checked you out of your 1st hotel. We had an issue with this a few weeks ago. I went to the front desk at YC to physically check out of the resort. I was told everything was fine. I was checked out.

Then went to BI to check in. There, I was told that I could not check into BI until I had checked out of YC. I told them that I had indeed checked out of YC. They said the system did not have me checked out so I would have to wait.

It seems that ideally we should be able to use our DP credits on the morning of check in, but the system does not always work ideally. I can see the split stay foiling plans.

I hope not. We also have a split stay in July and I am seriously considering booking DDP for the second part (with one adult and two children, it seems quite a good deal- a way to do Akershus and Fantasmic package and other dining experiences I would not consider without the plan).
