Dining Plan dilemma

We are driving to DW on June 29th, so will check in around mid-late afternoon. We will be checking out on the 5th and heading home right away. I called to add the dining plan and didn't feel like we needed it for the 29th, so they did the 29th as a sep reservation then did a reservation for the 30-5th. Now I have a 40 dollar credit on the res for the 29th and am wondering if I should just do the extra dining plan day for not much more out of pocket so we can do dinner the night we get there and breakfast the morning we leave.

Is this going to be super complicated to call and change again? Will it make that much of a difference?

Thanks!

What kind of reservation do you have for the 29th? You say it is separate from the other reservation. Is it a package reservation or is it DVC? If it is not DVC, are there tickets on the reservation? You might have to buy tickets to add the plan. If it is a room only reservation you can't add the plan unless you convert it to a package and buy tickets - unless you are an annual passholder. If you are, you can convert the one night to a package and add the dining plan without adding tickets.

If you book it as a package you will need to pay for it in full as soon as you book it. If it's already a package, you may be charged $10 for making changes to your package within 2 weeks of arrival.

The reservation for the 29th is room only.

The reservation for the 30th-5th is room and dining plan.

My hubby is military so we have bought our tickets separately.

So, if i understand this correctly, I could call and just change the 29th room-only reservation to add the dining plan and keep things exactly as they are for the 30th-5th?

Yes, if you convert the room only to a package. Not sure what kind of package they have for the military that you can have a package without tickets. Make sure you haven't booked on an offer for the military that requires a minimum stay - if you have you won't be able to add the dining plan for one night unless you buy tickets.

If you are using the 40% off the room only for the one night, you can just add the dining plan to that without having to do anything else. There are no minimum stay requirements, so you will be good to go! I have a one night military rate with the quick serviceplan,so I am sure the regular dining would be the same! Have a great trip!

I think you should do the package first then add the room only at the end. This way you can use your DDP credits for your whole stay.

I'd just call and add dining to the 29th. We're going on the same military package  and since tickets aren't a part of the package its easy to add or remove dining. I don't know if there would be a charge to change it being so close to your trip or not. Good luck!

Why not call and see if you can simply extend the second reservation back one day to start the 29th, and then just drop the 1-day reservation? That might be less complicated than trying to add dining to a second package.
