Dining Plan dates question....

So, to clarify, I seem to recall hearing that if free dining was for certain dates, if your trip had any day fall in those dates you got the free dining for the whole trip. Am I mis-remembering or did I just get bad info?

I am asking because I got a PIN for free dining but it doesn't start until the 11th and I would like to arrive the 8th or 9th and leave the 12th or 13th. Would my whole trip qualify for free dining or not?

If your arrival falls in the dates available you get free dining for the length of stay.
If free dining is not until the 11th you can't start free dining until the 11th.
If free dining ended the 25th and you arrive the 24th you get free dining for as long as you stay up to 14 nights.

Okay, I think that is where I got confused. I thought it worked both ways. Dang it.

depending on how long your trip is and whether it's worth the hassle to you, there's also the possibility of booking a split stay- the first part hotel only, the second part with the package to get free dining. The second part of the stay has to be long enough on it's own to meet the trip length requirements. You'll have to re-check in partway through your trip, and there's the chance in doing so that you'll have to change rooms. So that's another possibility but you'd have to really think about whether its worth it to you. We did it a couple years a go and didn't have to move, I did the check in while DH and kids ate at the food court and he grabbed me something to eat on the shuttle to the park. We were able to access the park tickets attached to the second reservation the day we arrived o use all of our park days.
