Dining plan and kid's meals

Hello.. DS will be 10 when we go on our trip, so we had to purchase the adult meal plan for him. I am concerned that at some restaurants he will not like the adult items (we have been looking at the menus) Even though he is an adult by Disney standards...he still has the tastes of a child. Corn dogs and chicken nuggets!!

Would they let him order off of the child's menu rather than the adult menu with the adult meal plan??? This would only be shorting us money wise (so Disney should be happy) and we would not do it very often. There are just a few restaurants in Epcot that my DH would like to try, but I don't think Ds will be happy eating this stuff. I'd rather lose $$ on one meal that he actually ate rather than using the credits and also have to buy something else for him to eat afterward.

Has anybody done this??

I know that I was able to order an adult meal for myself several times last April so I would think that they wouldn't have a problem with it.

We are also planning on doing this in May. I don't think they would have a problem with it.

Also, with buffet meals, you can eat from anyway, including the kids pods -- so he could always supplement the more adult food with whatever he sees on the kids side (like the mac and cheese and chicken fingers/nuggets.

Oh Good! I was worried that they might be really strict about him having to eat off of the adult's menu. I was starting to worry that we made a mistake doing the dining plan! Thanks for the replies!

The restaurants are generally very good about modifying entrees as well. When I took my 11 year old god daughter back in December, I always ordered the steak with no sauces or toppings and I asked for mashed potatoes or fries as the side for her. The restaurants were always happy to oblige.
