Dining Plan and AAA discount

We have ressies for BC for the week of Thanksgiving and are using a AAA rate. We have been toying with getting the dining plan, but now I'm wondering... Since we have a AAA rate are we eligible for the dining plan? Or is it only for those who booked a "rack rate" ressie at the resorts?

Thanks for your help.

You can get the *paid* dining plan and the AAA discount if you book through AAA. If you want the *free* dining plan, then you have to pay rack rate for the room.

So if I booked the AAA rate through Disney, then I am out of luck with adding the dining? We didn't think last year we would do the dining (paying for it) but after reading all the things on this board, we're wondering that maybe we should have, but now I don't know if I can! We bought our tickets almost two years ago so we don't need them... We haven't been since 1984 so much has changed...

TIA

Yep, you cannot take the free dining and a discount of any kind. I am getting the dining and the discount, but I am paying for the dining plan, since we are going in november.

We don't want the free dining - we are going for Thanksgiving so I didn't think it was offered then. We're fully ready to pay for the dining plan, just want to be sure we can add it. So confusing the many plans and discounts out there - you would think planning ahead would help, but I don't feel like it has!

You cannot add the Dining plan to a room-only reservation with the AAA discount yourself.

But, you can cancel the room-only reservation you have, then book the Magic Your Way + Dining package directly through AAA to get a discount. :flower:

Exactly. The only way to save on a package is to book through AAA. You also get a card that lets you park in a special lot (if there is space), a coupon for a drink in the AAA lounge at MK and a card that gives you a small percentage off at locations around Disney, plus luggage tags.

Thanks for your help. I'll call AAA tomorrow and see if there is still room at the Inn while we are there!

If you want the dining plan, you will have to buy new tickets. The dining is an add-on to a PACKAGE, not an add-on to a room-only.

The only way to book a package with an AAA discount is through AAA. Disney CRO can only book room-only with the AAA discount.
