Dining/Parking at Contemporary

We are staying offsite, but have reservations for dinner at the Chef Mickey's, can someone tell me, are we able to park there for dinner and take the kids for a ride on the monorail after???I guess I'm asking is there a time limit. I'm not opposed to paying for parking??Thanks

I know I'll probably get flamed for this, but we had ressies for Concourse Steakhouse for 8:00 am breakfast and 5:00 pm Chef Mickey on Thursday, 5/26 and I was able to park in handicap parking at the Contemporary, left the van there all day, with my Vistana Resort parking ticket on the dashboard, and we were fine. Rode the monorail to MK after breakfast, saw what we wanted, then returned to Contemporary to shop and rest on the large purple sofa type benches by the shops before heading to Chef Mickey. After dinner, we went back to Vistana. I would do this again if I had 2 meals booked in the Contemporary.

They generally give you a three hour parking pass. They can and do tow those who overstay the welcome. I watched them tow cars out of the parking lot the day of the marathon, and it was almost empty.

You should have plenty of time to eat and take the kids around the monorail loop though.

One thing to consider - Contemporary has fairly limited parking. You may have an easier time if you park at Poly or TTC and ride the monorail over to Contemporary. Also, if you park at TTC, you won't have any time limit (but you will have to pay to park which they may waive if you park at the hotel).

you can park there - if parking is availability.

if the resort is full or they have a convention going - you might be refused. So make sure you are getting there a half hour before just so you have time to find another parking area and get back to the Cont if you have too.

it doesn't matter if the parking lot is full or not - if the resort is full you will be refused entry.

they can give you anywhere from a 2 to 6 hour parking permit. they will and have toll cars away as ducklite says.

be sure to read the time you need to leave at. Who knows you may find a nice guard and the hotel not be that busy and they give you a 6 hour pass.

Disney is a private property. Some people forget that and try to take advance of it. but in the end I feel they will get their car towed at some time.

if you complaint and threaten then the Police can and will come.

just pay attention to your time limit. the guards are pretty nice if they can they will give you as much time as possible.

When I pulled up to the resort, the person at the entrance saw my handicapped tag and I told her we had breakfast and dinner ressies. She did not give me a parking permit. This was on a Thursday and the park was not that crowded. It did not appear that the resort was that crowded as well. Of course, I was in a handicap space, so that might have been why I was able to park all day. I'm not sure. Hoping to stay onsite in 2007 so I won't have to worry about parking!

We did the exact thing you are talking about last month. They did ask to see our id at the gate at the Cont and then gave our kids Mickey stickers and told us to pull on through. We were not given a time frame for when we had to leave--but we were there in May and the hotel parking lot was not very full. It seemed like a few other folks eating at CM's then boarded the monorail and rode around with us. Its great for the kids to get a glimpse of the castle--very cool!
