I am still going back and forth about the package. I just cant see us eating at the restraunts that much. I was wondering as in another post (1)can you share meals thereby effectively getting to eat three meals a day instead of 2 (2) since my parents will be there part of the time, does it allow for all of us to eat together and 'pay' for their meal with our ts's so say there are 4 in our room 2 adults 2kids we eat at boma with my parents can we charge it as 4aduld ts 2 kid ts? (3)can you use your ts's at cs? as others have posted I just dont want to give up park time every day for sit down meals.

Trying to have everything in order if i call them again.

Hi! I'll try to answer your questions:
1) Yes. you can share with no problems.
2) Yes. Your credits are for you to use in any way you see fit. Just tell your server when you are seated how many credits you will use.
3) I don't know this for sure, but I don't see why not. I think "trading down" is fine, but "trading up" is not.

I have looked into the Dining plan extensively, and IMO, there is almost no way NOT to save $$$ or at least break even. Plus, just having your meals pre-paid is great.

Have a great trip! :sunny:

I think if you're going with a family, and don't really see Table Service as a constant, then the plan is good for you. Dining preferences was a main factor for families for whom the plan didn't work. You will likely save money by sticking to the plan, but the plan was too restrictive for some?

Sounds like this will not be the case for you, if you are preferring counter service to table service. The table service credits will likely turn out to be a very nice bonus for your family!

Don't forget, you HAVE to buy the plan for everyone listed on the room ressie, except for under age 3 (I believe - maybe 2, can't remember). When I booked in January, there was some confusion whether it had to run with the number of nights at the resort. We did take it for the full time we were there, but since we went to Kennedy Space Center one day, it was difficult to use all the options. Good luck.

:sunny: Here is how I am going to us the dinging package. We get there on Thursday afternoon and leave monday night. We are doing lunch at crystal palace at 11:30 on Friday. Its EMH so we will be there early already. The character breakfasts are the same credit as a table service no extra. There is 2 kids and 4 adults. A snack can be shared. My girls will share there bag of popcorn so they can do this twice in one day each day. Saturday we have PS at 4pm at Rainforest Cafe. Animal Kingdom closes at 7 anyway and its early entry day. This is not a dining package place to eat though but the extended family wants to eat there. so we wont use a table service credit that day. Now on Sunday we have 2 sit downs. There is no early entry day so eating at Chef Mickeys at 7 am would work and still go to Epcot at 9. Then 5:30 ressie at the Concourse Steakhouse using a credit for both meals that day. MGM is open late that night so we will go there after dinner. This still leaves one table sit down credit which will be used for breafast at the Councourse Steakhouse Monday morning. Head to MGM for lunch. Counter service for breakfasts or light dinners. Chef Mickeys would cost my party over 100 bucks, the steakhouse closer to 150. Not including tips. So the 160 a day includes the tip, the sit down and a snack. The sit down is a drink, a dessert, an appitizer and the entree. Cyrstal Place is alot as well. When you figure the counter service prices. Hamburger $5-8" that adds up fast. So anyway I just wanted to breakdown my plan for ya to help ease the pressure. :flower:

I was wondering also about getting the plan. I like the idea of not having to pay then, and you can save alot of money, but I feel like once you decide to get the plan, you have to "live up" to it, and may beome pre-occupied with over planning in order to try to maximize savings

One question - I read in another post that Maya Grill at CSR IS a plan restaurant, but the plan brochure does not list it. Anyone have aniy idea if it is? Staying at CSR so this may sway our decision.

Thanks

Disney added the Maya Grill and Pepper Market to the MYW Dining plan in February, but for some reason, have not updated their brochure. Many people have posted that they were able to use credits at both restaurants with no problem.

The CMs at WDW-DINE need to get with the program- they seem to be misinformed about this. They are still using outdated info and telling people that the CSR restaurants aren't on the plan when, in fact, they are.
