I need some advice on restuarant picks....
I'm making my first trip to Disney in 5 days with 3 friends. We are all poor college kids that have spent most of our money on the trip, so we have limitted resources for food and shopping. We are planning on using the food court at POP Century in the morning and quick service food stands quite a bit during the day. We have three sit down meals planned, House of Blues, ESPN Zone and Cinderella's Royal Table...but we want one more ...we were thinking of going to one of the resort restuarants but not sure which to try.
Any suggestions of a moderate priced resort resturant?
Any opinions of our other three picks.

All comments would be helpful....I'm overwhelmed by excitement and want to plan everything.

I don't know your interests or the relative price but you may try the Wispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. It is alot of fun and I think the cost in is the moderate to higher price. You may want to consider a buffet. Do one late afternoon to be lunch and dinner. Ones we like are Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, and Hollywood and Vine.

Have a great time.

These are a few of our resort favorites.....

f you guys like trying different beers, there's Big River Grill and Brewing Works. (not sure if you're old enough)

For something a tad more "elegant", but still moderately priced, we LOVE the Grand Floridian Cafe. The Chocolate Fondue for two is so yummy. Can't wait for November to have it!!!

Also, another of our favorites is Olivia's at Old Key West. Cute atmosphere and very good food at a moderate price.

I guess my best recommendation of these would be the Grand Floridian Cafe.

Thanx for the suggestions...I had looked at the Big River Grille and Brewing Works...it sounds like fun, two of us are old of us...two not quite, but still.. and I'll look into the Floridian Cafe

You can't go wrong with CRT. How about Sci-Fi or Prime Time at MGM - you could just order desert if your budget won't allow a full meal, but still take in the fun, atomsphere of the restaurants. O'hana at the Polynesian is all you can eat steak, shrimp, pork, etc. Character meals are fun! For moderate resort restaurant-the Pepper Marker at CS is nice. They have everything. Some say best food court at WDW. Hope this helps.

You should visit Beaches 'n Cream at the Beach Club for a lunch or dinner, it's just a hamburger/sandwich joint but it's a very fun place!!! And if you're on a budget you could split a sandwich-- they'll even bring it out on two seperate plates each with it's own fries--- and there desserts are great, it's worth it just to go and see someone order the "kitchen sink"!!!!

Hi there :wave2: We are also young and poor and we are recently out of college. We went last September and stayed at Pop. You are going to have a BLAST!!!!!!!! The Pop food court is actually really good. They offer a lot of great choices that many other 'food court type places' don't. Have you taken a look at menus yet on www.allearsnet.com ? That may help you make your decision.

As for affordability+good choice, I would suggest maybe Beaches & Cream, Earl of Sandwich (and then Ghirardelli for dessert,) or nibble around the world showcase- you can find some great choices there. Keep in mind that people go and ask to share meals ALL THE TIME. If you want to try somewhere nicer just get 2 meals for the 4 of you and share. Most places won't even bat an eye. (You can't share at buffets, though ;) ) If you go this route, I would suggest Le Cellier!!

Have an awesome time!

Just noticed another part of your question that no one had answered yet. Of the 3 you have chosen, we have been to ESPN and to Cinderella's. Cindy's is a definite must do if you are a first timer (and even if you're not ;).) It is just so cool to be in the castle. I don't know which meal you are going for, but keep in mind that breakfast and lunch are now character buffets. We liked ESPN because we were there to watch a Ravens game. It's a cool atmosphere, but if you have any sports bars in your town, it's nothing really superior to that. The food is pretty similar, and so is the atmosphere. If you are going just to go on a regular day, I'd say skip it. If you are going to watch a particular sporting event and are going to get to see the shows they do, then it is fun.

Another suggestion, if you have never been to a Rainforest Cafe, go to one at WDW. It is a definite must do for a first timer. It's so fun and you can get a pizza and an appetizer and split it between the 4 of you and it will cost you about $25-$30 with drinks. The atmosphere is free ;)
