My family only tent camps. We use a 12' by 12' dining canopy mostly for rain but a few times we didn't use it the table get all kinds of crap on it from trees etc. It looks like the one below.

My youngest son is now on his own and wants to start to accumulate his own camping equipment. When I look online it appears that only one company makes one like the one we own and they are crap. I know maybe 15 years ago I needed to replace just the tarp on ours (I think it may have melted but thats another story :) ) for whatever reason it was just easier to buy a new one.

I think we tried to use it out of the box but as per a lot of reviews its super cheap. I think the new poles bent and the ropes were super cheap poly "rope" so I just used the tarp with my old poles, ropes and tent pegs.

Ok so what do some of you use in this situation? I know 80% are going to say an Easy Up but they don't cover the table and don't pack up very small.

Is there something out there that I'm missing. I think at some point I saw something at Walmart that used poles in the roof that folded up like tent poles but can't find anything.

Also no screen houses. 30 years ago my wife asked if we could get one for the bugs but I vetoed that due to all the unzipping and re zipping and that they were much smaller than advertised.

Ok now that I think about my post I realize that the second example I posted is just a bigger Easy Up. At least its 12' by 12'.

Ours looks like similar to the one with the green trim around the bottom, that is a easy up, when folded and put into its bag it is probably 4 ft. high and 10 inches wide. Don't take up a lot of space. Ours is the 12 x 12 but it also has the removable screen, and 3 removable wall dividers. We purchased it from Gander Mnt. a few years back but they are out of business.

We can put the picnic table and a 3 x 6 folding table at the end of the picnic table under our ez up. There is plenty of room under the ez up if it is raining that we would not get wet, even if doing dishes at the folding table.

This pic was taken in March of this year. I don't have any with the removable walls or the screen on the ez up, but, I do have a pic of one of the walls that I used for something else..

I was able to hang the wall from two trees and use my fireworks projector.

There are some that have magnetic closures on the door. Those are very easy to use IMO.

Thank you! I was at Aldi a few weeks ago and bought a 7.98 screen with magnetic closure for my back door hoping to attach it some way to keep flies from following my dog indoors. Needless to say this didn't work. But I now see a future for that screen attached to my screened easy up as a new 'door' that will close easier than the zippers.

Either that, or tell your dog to be more careful! :D

We purchased one from Walmart that we saw while in FL (haven't seen it anywhere else). It is 13'X13' and does a great job of covering the table - unlike our old 10X10.
It has a 3' vented pagoda top. It is easy to set up and lighter than our older one - a necessity, but stronger. We really like it.

Honestly, I would either go with a a nice EZ UP or just tarp it. You could either get folding tent poles or cut down a few saplings and use those for poles. We have both. The tarp is a lot more complicated but cheaper. It is also much more sturdy than the EZ UP. High winds can take the thing to the next state...but, the tarp, no issues whatsoever.

We have used a Coleman 12x12 and guylined the heck out of it and had no problems. I'm looking for a 13x13 for a good price now.
