Could anyone recommend a good place to take my three girls (4,6,8), hubby, and mom for dinner before experiencing MVMCP Fri. Dec. 9th? We've never been at the holidays and never had dinner inside MK.

Thanks!

Liberty Tree Tavern is a good choice.

This is what we do , YMMV. Since you can get into MK at 4pm with just your party ticket, we do our TS that day for breakfast or lunch and then rest at the resort. We get to MK around 4, do a quick CS and then get in line for one of the special photo ops around 6:30. We don't want to tie up any party time at a sit down restaurant.

Of course if you want to eat dinner and have never in MK, CRT is a (pricey) must-do at least once for the magical experience. We also enjoy the buffet at CP and the menu at The Plaza.

I think the kids would love the Crystal Palace buffet with all the Pooh characters. And we have always enjoyed the all you care to eat dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern,

We normally over the years do not eat TS for dinner on the night of the party. We normally did breakfast in the club and a TS for lunch. A out of the box option would be to do Afternoon Tea at the GF and then head over to the MK. I mention this since you have three princesses and this makes a special moment for daughters and mom. Dad can par take too. There is a kids option. Sandwich selection or what I prefer is ale carte option with tea and a drink or two. We dine in the MK during the party with snacks or a CS selection. We have always let our girls select one of the special Christmas hats from one of the vendors on mainstreet to kick off the party for the family before it gets dark.

Hi Cori!

We like LTT, too but if you do that make sure it's early enough so you can get in lines for MVMCP special characters/events.

Another option and something neat you and the girls might enjoy is the Grand Floridian Garden Tea Room. I just did that with my mom and my 5 year old daughter and we loved it! Kids can get choc milk instead of tea if they want but DD5 enjoyed picking out her own flavor.

They have a variety of options to choose with little sandwiches, fresh cream and strawberries, pastries or you can do ala carte. I did the grand tea with champagne, shrimp, cheese/fruit, sandwich and pastry and that served as my supper.

Depending how much you order it can be a light meal or nice snack. It's a quiet place to relax and talk, listen to the string band/quartet and have a tea party! DD5 dressed up in her Cinderella costume and we just all felt special and like royalty.

Cost ranged from about $10-25+.

I'll have pics in my TR but I'm only on day 2 so it'll be a bit yet, if you are interested.:goodvibes

We have never been to the Christmas party, but we have been to the Halloween party. We do not like to waste party time with a TS meal, so we usually go to Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge for a later lunch, then stroll around the resort until we can enter MK at 4:00. The all-you-can-eat skillet fills us up quite a bit to the point that we can usually just use a snack credit later during the party. If we do want to eat dinner, we eat at a CS restaurant. Plus if you do go to WCC before the Christmas Party, you will get to enjoy the decorations at the WL.

Another one here that does not waste valuble party time on TS dining the night of parties. We simply have a TS meal for breakfast or lunch, enter the MK at 4p with our party ticket and have a CS meal at Cosmic rays around 5pm .By 530p we are riding rides and lined up for party activities for the 7p start time.

We picked Liberty Tree Tavern because the meal kinda had a holiday feel to it. We really enjoyed it.

I'm in the minority here, but I prefer the Plaza. Small restaurant, turn-of-the-century charm, a view of the castle and great sandwiches.

It's not inside the park but if you want a character meal for little girls and don't want to pay for CRT, have an early dinner at 1900 Park Fare (5pm or so) and catch the monorail over for the party.

Most suggestions are for not using valuable party time for a sit-down meal. If you want a later dinner closer to party time or during the party, go for counter service.

If you want a late lunch TS then you can do any of the restaurants inside MK, just pick which one most appeals. Liberty Tree is a la carte for lunch, not all you can eat.

We have a 4:20 adr at CP the night of our party. Plenty of time to enjoy a meal and still be ready to line up for the characters ;)

LTT would also be a great choice just make your adr earlier so you have time to eat and not cut into your party time.

We did this too.:thumbsup2

Since it is past 180 days from dec9, you might find it difficult to get MK or GFT adrs. You could also try for chef michey's or the wave at the contemporary ... You can then walk to MK.
