OK, so what happens if I show up at a WDW park restaurant without a PS in July? Let's say, for argument sake, it's Teppanyaki, Sci-Fi or Liberty Tavern? How long will the wait be without a PS at, let's say 6:00 pm?

It could be as short as five minutes, or they could say they have so many reservations that they are not taking any walk-ups. Parts of July can get very crowded.

Well you don't say how big your party is, that makes a difference. We were there last july / aug for 18 nites and for the 2 of us, on non - ps days (especially in july and early in aug) it was VERY difficult to get to eat, when and where we wanted. We ate a LOT of hamburgers. :earseek:  . I reccommend making a ps about every other to every 3 days at least for 1 meal (we prefer lunch, cheaper than dinner) instead of NO ps's at all. Than at least you have a fall back plan and can have a few nice meals. Otherwise it is fast food all the time. If the ps falls where you might not be going that day and change your plans than just cancel it, no big deal. :smooth:

Good luck, MKY princess:

We've been to WDW many times in July and I would think the Sci-Fi and LTT you would need PS. Teppanyaki you might be ok, but it's kind of hit and miss. We've been there (usually for sushi at Matsanoma lounge) around that time quite a bit, and sometimes there's a wait and other times not.

Guess it depends on how bad you want to eat there. If you can't live without, make the PS. There's no penality if you decide you're not in the mood and don't show up.

We go every July (used to be just DH & I, but this July we'll have the baby with us!), and we've never made PS's before. Now we have never eaten at Sci-Fi or Liberty Tree Tavern before (I have allergies/food sensitivities, so it's because of food selection), but we always eat at Garden Grill/Epcot, Ohana's for breakfast and Marakkesh for lunch. We eat earlier rather than later, and there has been only 2 of us, so perhaps that has made a difference, but the past 3 years, we have found July not to be busy at all!

That being said, it wouldn't hurt to make a few PS's as others have said, just in case as it depends on many things as to if you have to wait to eat or not: how many in party, time of day, time of year, how popular restaurant is and now to consider: the AP purchase of the DDE card. This certainly means that table service restaurants are going to be a tad more busy than usual - especially the character meals I'm sure! So for this reason, PS's would be more important than usual I would imagine!

This year, being that we have the baby, I've made PS's for our March trip, and will be making some for our July trip as she eats lunch & dinner early, as well as for the DDE discount reason mentioned above.

Have fun and happy eating! Tiger aka Piglet's Momma
