Do you typically dine at your own resort and parks? Or do you try out restaurants at different resorts? I'd like to try Boma at AKL, i'm just wondering if it will take up so much time between getting there from the AK and then after eating, going all the way back to our resort (CSR). Worth it or not? I also thought of trying to eat at Polynesian, but same thoughts....too much travelling? (ds6, dd2)

thanks!

One train of thought that we use at times. When we want to get at Boma we do AK that day then head over to the Lodge to eat at Boma's. Same can be for Poly. Good luck. Boma is great.

My family does not mind the traveling so we schedule dinner at resorts. I try to keep the meal close to where we will be at that time as much as possible.

We're going to resorts that are not too far out of the way (mostly). I think it's worth a few extra minutes of travel to try out some new places.
I think Boma makes lots of sense on an AK day. I had considered it but am unsure my dh would really enjoy the food anyway, and I think we would all enjoy the entertainment of the HDDR more (even though that is more out of the way, but the travel includes a boat ride which I think the family will like).

Keep in mind that AK closes on the early side (unless it's EMH) anyway so you should have time for traveling on that day.
Also, Poly isn't that far from the TTC (if I have my mental map right) so I don't think it's really that big a pain to get to it from anywhere.

We rent a car for our Disney stay and have no problem with driving to the other resorts for meals...we've done it for years. We always stay at the CSR and this year we are trying Boma and Whispering Canyon Cafe.

We eat at other resorts on our non-park days. On park days we eat b-fast on the fly, lunch back at the resort during our break and dinner in the park we started out with.

On park days, if you don't do resort breaks, I see no problem with having dinner at a different resort. Just keep it close.

Last month we were at WDW with our 2 boys (5 & 2) and we visited other resorts and really enjoyed it. We were staying at AllStar Sports and took the bus to AKL for breakfast at Boma and then went to AK for a few hours. We took the bus to MK and then rode the monorail to the Poly for dinner at Kona (loved this!!). We also went to MK one morning then took the boat to WL for lunch at Whispering Canyon.

Our boys loved the different transportation and it was really relaxing to sit down and ride a little. Enjoy! We thoroughly enjoyed each of the above mentioned meals and would go back to any of those for sure!!

Happy memory making!

Eat dinner at Boma's on a day after you visit Animal Kingdom. With AK closing at 6pm on most nights you can easily take a bus after AK closing to Animal Kingdom Lodge. You won't miss any park time and you still get to enjoy a wonderful restaurant.

On our most recent trip we stayed off site :scared1: but ate at Kona (breakfast & dinner), Olivia's (dinner), and Captain's Grille (lunch), as well as restaurants at the park we were in. Even when we stay on site we rent a car because of the freedom it gives us.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We have stayed at POR the last 3 trips and will be staying there again in Sept. We always have restaurants that we visit in other resorts like Poly, CR, WL, BW, etc. DS2 was with us last year (almost 2) and will be again this year and he had no problem with the extra traveling. He loved being on the buses and thought it was so much fun, probably because he wasn't strapped in a carseat. Hope this helps!

I love dining at other resorts. It allows time to see the resorts around Disney and see the magic that is outside the parks. It is easier if you rent a car, which I always do, but taxis work too. Lets see for my upcoming trip I want to make ADRs at Poly, Contemporary, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Grand Floridan, Wilderness Lodge, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is worth it and many of the above are going to be new for me and I can't wait. Have fun it is something I think everyone should do.
