taking our first trip to wdw since we were both kids...i was able to get reservations at the California Grill at the Contemporary for a 720pm seating....however we are staying at the All-Star resorts. So my big question is will we have time to eat our dinner and enjoy ourselves without having to rush and still use disney monorail/bus transportation system to get back to our resort before the transportation service stops?
And i guess a follow up question that I haven't been able to find on the website yet is this...how long do buses run after park closing hours? Should I attempt to get an earlier dining time? Would love to watch the fireworks show from the restuarant, but don't want to get stuck without a way back!! Are there disney cabs readily available for resort guests?

thanks for the help!! cant wait to get there, only 5 more months to go!!

The quickest way from the All Stars is to take the MK bus then either walk across the street, or take the resort monorail.
The last bus on property is 2 am and that is out of the DTD area.Park busses vary from park to park.So your not going to get stuck.

Is MK open late that night? If so, you should be fine. Buses run from the parks to the resorts for up to two hours after the park closes. Worst case scenario would be taking a bus, from the CR, to DTD and then transferring to a bus to your resort.

You should take your resort bus to the MK. When you get off the bus, head towards the MK entrance (just follow the crowd). But...don't go left, with the crowd. Go right, following underneath the monorail line. You will see a sidewalk that runs beside the bus area into MK, on the right and MK actually on the left. Follow this sidewalk to the CR..takes less than 10 mins and is a very pleasant walk.

If you decide to use a cab, they are very easy to get. Most resorts have cabs sitting there, just waiting. Valet services can call one up for you.

Oh, and Welcome to the DIS boards!!!

thanks for the info!! knowing that there are plenty of options is a load off my mind, and one more thing scheduled.
and thanks for the welcome, i'm sure to be playing on the boards alot between now and may 1st

If you finish dessert before the fireworks end, you will definitely be able to get the (ALl Star) bus back from Magic Kingdom whether you take the monorail or walk back to MK.

In fact if you really hustle back to MK just after the fireworks, you will be caught in the crowds exiting the park.
