I was able to book an ADR for the Plaza on a party night at 6:45 pm. This was not under the MVMCP dining, but just the regular ADR. How does that work if the park closes at 6:00?

You will be allowed to dine without tickets, but you'll be escorted out after you're finished.

But if you don’t have a ticket for MVMCP, you won’t be allowed to come into the park to go to the Plaza. If the park closes at 6, you are expected to make your way to the exit.

They’re probably already going to be in MK and the cast members would absolutely allow them to go to their reservation at 6:45. Now if they’re not at MK you’re right, good chance they’re not even let into the park at all.

Thanks for the response. Yes, we would be at MK that day and were planning to eat before leaving.

But if the park (so, access to everything) closed at 6, are any non-party guests going to be allowed to stay in the park for an extra 45 minutes (plus actual eating time?)

OP, are you sure there wasn't anything at all on any of the reservation pages indicating you need party tickets to be able to find so long after the park closes?

I think the hour is a buffer so folks can exit leisurely. The park used to close at 7 and the party started at 7, and I imagine that was a nightmare for everyone. CM's could not allow last minute shopping, the bathrooms closed to non party people, the restaurants were probably chaotic as well. Can you imagine getting stuck in an attraction queue and getting to your ADR a few minutes late, only to be told yo had to leave?

I also just read on another thread that a Frozen Holiday Wish is scheduled for 6:15 pm each day beginning on Nov. 4. That's about a 12-min show, so I'm guessing Disney isn't expecting everyone to leave right at 6:00 pm.

Thanks again for the help. I feel more confident now that we won't be kicked out (until after dinner!). :)

Correct. The rides close to non-party guests at 6pm and at that time guests are herded to main street where you can watch the holiday wish show, do some shopping etc. Any guests still there at 7pm will be escorted out, but since you are dining on main street (which is probably why you were able to make that rezzie so late) you should be fine. Someone will walk you to the gate from the restaurant when you are done dining, though.

Right, you won't be kicked out but you will be limited as to where you can go after 6.

We've seen this with the Halloween party a few times, and at one point the CM's actually form a line across Main St. and not let anyone heading toward the castle past the area between Casey's and the Plaza. Do they let them close enough to watch the the holiday wish show?

Everyone is allowed to stay and watch the 6:15 Holiday Wish show from any vantage point. That is “the” castle lighting show designed for everyone. MVMCP’ers can opt for the 8:15pm lighting show if so inclined, or can watch the 6:15pm one as well.

Correct. 6:00 is like a "soft" close, and 7:00 is a hard close.

If you are already in the park no issue with your dining reservation since its before the party officially starts at 7:00. But I would check at the hostess station earlier in the day to make sure the rules haven't changed. Between 6:00 and 7:00 certain areas of the park, and rides, become only accessible to guests with "party bands" creating a natural traffic flow towards Main Street and the exits. No one is "escorted" off the property and that's highly illogical considering the number of guests. You will exit the restaurant after dining and follow the traffic flow down Main Street to the exits. Main Street, shops and restrooms are still open to non-party guests as they are exiting. Been there, done exactly that.
