DING Fares For Dummies!

My husband is the only one who travels by plane to meet us in WDW and we usually do research on flight fares but I have never heard of a DING. Could someone please educate me??

There is also a thread in this forum that tracks the Ding fares and when they are released. This is a good place to get an idea of what the special prices are and when they generally become available. This thread was started last November.
