Has anyone booked with Southwest and the found a Ding flight lower? If so, were you hable to rebook at the lower price online or did you have to call Southwest? If you were able to rebook the ding online, how did you do it? Thanks.

I called them to ask this question yesterday. The way it was explained to me is that you need to call to cancel the original flight. Then your credit is placed in a "holding account" with a number. You can then use the credit to book online with your account number. The difference stays in the holding account for up to one year to be used as a credit.

You can actually cancel the old reservation on line first in the travel center. Then book through the DING using the credits. You will need the original reservation number and the name of the credit card holder who purchased the tickets.

I've done this with no problem. First, I made sure the flight times were available with the Ding fare. Then, I went into the "Travel Center", cancelled my old flight, noted my "Ticketless Travel Funds" # (or if you booked at full fare, you could just request a refund), and then went back through the Ding link to book the airfare. When you get to the payment page, you click the button that says "View Ticketless Travel Funds", enter the # you got from your cancellation, select that funds # from the next page, and then the fare is deducated from that amount. If you have any funds left over, they will be available for later use, up to a year from your booking date.

remember that travel has to be COMPLETED before the one year is up.

not just flights rebooked.
