DING and SW question

Have a question about SW and Dings - if I book by flights early with an internet/oneway fare from the SW site and a Ding comes up later that is lower can you cancel and rebook? How does it work? I dont want to wait to see if a Ding comes up before I book. Have never flown SW before but it will cost my group less than half of what we would pay on Air Canada!!

Yes, you can cancel and rebook, however, I suggest you have two open windows going on your computer. With the first window, check and make sure there is an available flight for the dates you plan to travel. Have all of the info filled in for your new flight. Then go to the other window and cancel the original flight. Go back to the first window and book the new flight. GOOD LUCK!

You just go to the travel center on the SW site and there is link cancel/change reservation, it will let you do the new one with the cancelled one right there, its really easy. I have changed them a few times with no problem, if there is money left over it will have to be used on a future SW flight within a year from original booking date. No money is returned normally.

This is true when changing a regular reservation, however I believe you can only book a Ding fare through the link that comes up with the Ding. If you use the travel center to change your ressies, the Ding fares won't come up as options. I changed my flights/ fares several times, sometimes using the travel center and sometimes having to cancel my ressie, then use those funds to book my Ding fare.
