We thought we had the room block solved but some of our guests would like to stay at the deluxe hotel with us. Even with the discount the hotel we chose is to expensive for some of them. We thought about changing to the Wilderness Lodge (our favorite) or to the Contemporary. We have never stayed at the Contemporary, so I would like to know how are the rooms there? Are they bigger or the same size as the Wilderness Lodge?

Our current plans are :
Fri- welcome dinner -Cape may Cafe,
Sat The grand Gathering breakfast at Tony's at the MK,
Su - brunch at the Attic at Boardwalk, maybe a rehearsal dinner at Whispering Canyon- Wilderness Lodge,
Mon- The wedding at WP and the reception at ADH.
We are currently staying at the Boardwalk.

If we change to the Contemporary, our plans would change to:
Fri- welcome dinner at Chef Mickey's,
Sat- Grand gathering breakfast at Tony's, dinner at Cali Grill,
Sun- breakfast at Chef Mickey's, dinner at Cape May Cafe

What do you think Shoule we change to Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks

The rooms at the Contemporary are quite a bit bigger than the WL's. Like over 100 sq. feet bigger! And they sleep 5 as opposed to 4 at the WL. They're also more expensive, of course, so that might make a difference, especially if you're trying to keep costs down. The garden wing rooms would be less expensive than tower rooms if your guests don't mind not having a balcony.

The Contemporary's rooms are the largest on property, and its being on the monorail puts it a notch above Wilderness Lodge. I like them both, but if price isn't a consideration, then the Contemporary is probably a better bet — at least in terms of location. Your guests can walk to the MK and take the monorail to the WP, Epcot, the GF, etc. Wilderness Lodge has great atmosphere, but with only boat service to the MK and buses everywhere else, it will make it harder for people without a car to get around.

Thanks, With the discount , the Contemporary is the cheapest of all the deluxe resorts. Of course it says for the garden rooms but I will see if we can get first floor rooms since there are a few mobility issues in the group. Thanks for your reply it does help.

I'm glad! And if you get first floor rooms, your guests will have patios. :thumbsup2

... And if they get patios, they will be visited by Cheeto-seeking ducks... :rotfl2:
