i have been debating this dilemma for a week now. so i decided i’d post my problem with you all. We are currently booked fo 7 nights in a 2 bedroom at CCV. My cousin and her husband always comes with us. Well her niece is finally getting married after three Covid cancellation. Yep it’s the same time as our trip.
So now the Dilemma.
i have been looking on the DVC website for a one bedroom. CCV has no availability, GF has nothing available. As of 4 March my choices are: Boardwalk, Boulder ridge, Riveria, SSR or stay in our 2 bedroom at CCV. I still have a a few days to go before i hit the 7 month window and i know things will change.
i just really hate to waste a 2 bedroom for only two people. if i do decide to change should i call MS and have them help me switch. i’m afraid i’ll try online and be one button to slow.

While the Wilderness Lodge area is great, Boardwalk is our favorite resort. The ability to be able to walk to two parks (or Boat or use Skyliner) is just great. Plus all the Boardwalk entertainment (non-pandemic) is fantastic. I would definitely try for a one bedroom and bank the points. And yes, if it were me I'd call MS and let them make the switch. Good luck !

Thank You. we have not stayed at Boardwalk. So yes i think it would be a nice change. how far is the walk to HS? It looks like a nice stroll. Plus Beaches and Cream is pretty close t. 😂😂

From Boardwalk to HS it is a very pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk. Probably a 5 to 10 minute walk to EPCOT. Boardwalk is definitely a favorite resort of ours. Enjoy your trip!

Member Services opens an hour after online booking opens at 8 AM Eastern Time. And wait times on hold have been ridiculously long. You're better off doing it yourself online.

Do it yourself online. Just use the Modify feature. It's very easy and you will not lose the CCV reservation. The system won't release the CCV reservation until the BWV 1 B is reserved. As @Marionnette posted, you'll be an hour behind everyone else if you wait for MS. Any of those BWV rooms, even the 1 Bedrooms, will disappear fast for October stays as soon as the 7 month window opens.

We stay at the BWV almost every night of every trip in a 1 Bedroom. We love it there. The walk to DHS is convenient and faster than the boat, but the boat makes for a nice ride home when we're not in a hurry. (We usually get off at the Swan/Dolphin dock and walk bak to the BWV as the boat goes to the YC/BC/BCV dock before the BWV dock). We also like to walk over to the EPCOT entrance and take the skyliner over to Riviera. We are looking forward to breakfast or dinner at Topolinos. We often hop into EPCOT in the evenings for dinner. I think you will enjoy a BWV - the 1 bedrooms are so nie for two people. Pack less and take advantage of the washer/dryer. :)

Happy endings to the story.
Last night i checked availability for our trip and was disappointed that Boardwalk was not available for the duration of our stay. i was bummed and thought Boulder Ridge will be ok. i mean it’s in the same complex as CCV.
This morning i get up, and while i’m waiting for the magic hour of 07:00 CST to arrive i check availability again. No change.
at 07:01 i start the process and hit the modify and select my days and room size, knowing where i’m going to stay. But to my surprise and a couple of OMGs. Boardwalk pops up and for the full length of our stay. I was truly amazed and really needed the pixie dust pick me up.
The added great news was i got a call from the Air Force Base we live by and our 5 day Park Hopper Military salute tickets came in. So now we have park reservations and are staying at a new resort.
Sad part is now I have to wait till October.
Thanks everyone for the replies.

This time of year I’d be happy at Boardwalk over WL. Christmas time? Now that’s another story. No way would I give up the lodge at Christmas! You’ll be very pleased how nice it is to walk to and from Epcot and HS. Can’t beat it!
