Booked room and ADRs long ago. However, I'm uncertain if DH can make our trip or maybe a part of it due to work.

My mom has agreed to come if DH can't make it last minute. She's just about to turn 69. On our last trip together (few years ago). She would get tired and go back to room early. She thinks that she will do same on this trip if she feels tired.

Here's my Dilemma...

1.) We made our ADRs as a Party of 5. What happens if Mom returns back to room and we now become a Party of 4. Will they still honor our ADR?

2.) What happens to our ADRs for Fantasimic Dinner Package or Chef Mickey which we had put a Credit Card hold and has 24-hour cancellation policy?

3.) If mom is back @ POR, will she be able to get a Walk-in ADR for Boatwrights? Will they seat for a Table of 1?

4.) We are on the Basic Dining Plan. Mom says if goes back to the resort, she would perfer to eat at CS instaed of TS. Can she use her TS credit for CS?

5.) Can she downgrade any of her credits? TS - CS - Snacks

6.) Lastly, I told her this is not possible but I just wanted to double check. I would hate for her ask while WDW to find out then and not have ADRs.
If she doesn't use all her TS credit, can she use it for herself and my youngest DD. She want to take my youngest for breakfast w/o the others. I will not have any TS credits left her. She wants give her credit to my duaghter (who is a child). Is that possible? Can a Child use an adult TS credit?

I know it's allot of questions. Thanks for the help. Hoping my DH make it but want to have a back up plan if he can't make it.

1.) We made our ADRs as a Party of 5. What happens if Mom returns back to room and we now become a Party of 4. Will they still honor our ADR? As long as you arrive for your ADR, even if one person short, you will still be seated.

2.) What happens to our ADRs for Fantasimic Dinner Package or Chef Mickey which we had put a Credit Card hold and has 24-hour cancellation policy? As with question 1, as long as you arrive for your ADR you will be fine. It's not a pre-pay situation, but rather just a hold for the spots.

3.) If mom is back @ POR, will she be able to get a Walk-in ADR for Boatwrights? Will they seat for a Table of 1? We've never seen a busy Boatwrights so I"m sure she'd be able to do a walk-up without a problem, and yes they will seat a party of 1.

4.) We are on the Basic Dining Plan. Mom says if goes back to the resort, she would perfer to eat at CS instaed of TS. Can she use her TS credit for CS? Unfortunately the official rules state that you can't use TS for CS or bundle your CS for a TS credit. But with that being said, you can use her TS credits for extra sit down meals and she can use your CS credits as they are not assigned for each person individually, but pooled.

5.) Can she downgrade any of her credits? TS - CS - Snacks As mentioned above you can't trade credits to another credit... although there have been some reports that some CM's have allowed it.

Depending on how many adults you have on the plan, it should be possible, but you have to be aware that you would likely end up with an extra child TS credit at some point. As mentioned above the credits are pooled for everyone in the room, so if you have 2 adults and 1 child, everyone on the plan will have 2 adult TS and 1 child TS per night, in addition to the CS credits. If your mother tells the CM that she is using 2 adult credits it should work. I did this myself on my last trip as my nephew wanted an adult dish and the CM said it was no problem.

I know it's allot of questions. Thanks for the help. Hoping my DH make it but want to have a back up plan if he can't make it.

My answers are in red above, and based on my own experience, or answers I've gotten from CM's or FAQs on Dining Plan brochure. Unfortunately Disney can be inconsistent with their policies so this information may change, but either way I'm sure it would work well for you, and your mother would build more memories with the kids.

Enjoy you trip!

Here's my Dilemma...

There is a 99% chance that they'll still honor them. I'd say 100%, but there's probably that one person out there that has been denied by a new CM and, of course, if I say 100%, that person will see it and post on the thread :p

2.) What happens to our ADRs for Fantasimic Dinner Package or Chef Mickey which we had put a Credit Card hold and has 24-hour cancellation policy?
They "say" that they won't charge CC-holds if part of your party shows up. I'd visit the official WDW site dining FAQs and print that page just for reference at the restaurant in case they give you any lip. The phone CMs will typically state that the NoShow fee may be charged, but that's not the public facing policy.

3.) If mom is back @ POR, will she be able to get a Walk-in ADR for Boatwrights? Will they seat for a Table of 1?
More than likely. Even during Free Dining periods, I've never had a trouble at Maya Grill, I can't suspect that Boatwrights would be any more popular (not that MG is popular or that BW is bad, just both are TS restaurants in Mod resorts that most people don't go out of their way for). And yes, they do seat parties of 1, otherwise, my solo trips would not be the stuffing my face adventures they tend to be :)

4.) We are on the Basic Dining Plan. Mom says if goes back to the resort, she would perfer to eat at CS instaed of TS. Can she use her TS credit for CS?

5.) Can she downgrade any of her credits? TS - CS - Snacks
This is a possibility. There are typically mixed reports about both of these. If at the resort, there's usually a better chance, but it's not guaranteed.

6.) Lastly, I told her this is not possible but I just wanted to double check. I would hate for her ask while WDW to find out then and not have ADRs.

This is tricky. If adult meals are ordered for both, and the card says "2A" on it (or more, this signifies the number of adults on the plan, which becomes the most adult credits you can use at a given meal), it shouldn't be a problem. Using it for the Kids' Meal may be though.

I know it's allot of questions. Thanks for the help. Hoping my DH make it but want to have a back up plan if he can't make it.
Keep in mind that the dining credits are pooled per room per reservation. This means that you'll all have access to each others' credits for the trip. If you desire, you can book a couple extra meals to help burn her TS credits down (you'd have to pay OOP for the kids, but kids' meals are pretty cheap considering.) This may be easier than trying to downgrade and all that. Just something to keep in mind.

4.) We are on the Basic Dining Plan. Mom says if goes back to the resort, she would perfer to eat at CS instaed of TS. Can she use her TS credit for CS?

5.) Can she downgrade any of her credits? TS - CS - Snacks

My TA said that TS credits can be used for CS but CS can't be used TS (in other words you can downgrade your meal but not upgrade). If you're all in 1 room you'll have a pool of meals and if she's eating a lot of CS you could end up with enough TS credits left to do another TS meal at the end of your trip (remember credits are assigned per room not per person).

According to the Disney Dining Plan 2012 paper I got neither TS or CS can be redeemed for snacks

1.) We made our ADRs as a Party of 5. What happens if Mom returns back to room and we now become a Party of 4. Will they still honor our ADR? Yes, not a problem.

2.) What happens to our ADRs for Fantasimic Dinner Package or Chef Mickey which we had put a Credit Card hold and has 24-hour cancellation policy? Same as your first question. However, if you decide to completely cancel the Fantasmic Dinner Package it has a 2 day cancellation policy.

3.) If mom is back @ POR, will she be able to get a Walk-in ADR for Boatwrights? Will they seat for a Table of 1? Probably, diners seem to be mostly people staying there.

4.) We are on the Basic Dining Plan. Mom says if goes back to the resort, she would perfer to eat at CS instaed of TS. Can she use her TS credit for CS? Not sure anymore. The early pdf of the 2012 DDP said you could use TS credits for CS, but the most recent pdf posted on the Disney site (4/25/12) no longer mentions this option. :confused3

5.) Can she downgrade any of her credits? TS - CS - Snacks It used to be fairly easy to trade CS credits for snacks at the resort food courts, but the 2012 pdf specifically states that this cannot be done. At the beginning of the year people were reporting that they weren't allowed to do it, but there haven't been recent reports so I don't know if people have gotten used to it or they've gone back to allowing it.

Since she'll be taking your husband's place I assume you're all in one room (although some people with several children do book 2 rooms). The dining credits are pooled for the room and not assigned to individual persons, so everyone in the room will have the total # of adults and children listed on every KTTW card (e.g. 2 Adults 1 Child if that is the makeup of your group). In this case she could order up to 2 Adult meals at a time. However, unless you're keeping a separate record of your own, there's no way of knowing who has used how many credits per person.
