Dilemma (again) Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge

I am booking for next year and have never tried either resort but visited. Ideal for us; we like the quiet setting and more importantly (after AKL this year) the ability to run outside, I know there's a good run up to Fort Wilderness.
I kind of also know the pros and cons of each resort but I still cannot make my mind up and what I ideally need is people who have stayed at either, and particularly both to sell their favourite to me. Sorry to be a pain, I'm a decisive type but this has me beat.
We are 1 bed people.
I like the idea of the newer decor, the BRV just appear online to be in need of a refurb. Is this the real world experience or are they better in the flesh?
We like space, but the Copper Creek look a bit tight. I have a teenage boy and girl so would prefer one to be in a 'Readybed' blow up bed rather than both on the sofa bed.
We like it quiet. I often request 'far from lobby' to minimise noise (love been at the very end at Boardwalk and AKL). I'm worried Copper Creek may be a bit noisy. Then again I also heard some of Boulder Ridge are affected by bus noise which worries me - hate bus noise!
I like the look of the BRV building and mini lobby and the feeling of getting away from it all, but maybe I'll miss being in the main hotel.
So come on you BRV and CCV experts, which one should I go for?
Many thanks.

BRV studios have 3 sleep surfaces and a shorter teen will fit on one. Unit condition tends to depend on unit, just like every other property.

OP is not looking to book a studio, correct?

CC is of course more modern. I like modern. I liked the soaking tub and actually used it once. I like the handheld things in the shower, (easy for me to shower a special needs adult son). So bathrooms, winner CC.

For the rooms, I find the living room space to be smaller in CC, and the bedroom seems larger. This is likely due to the renovation of regular hotel rooms into a suite, of course. I personally prefer more space in the living room area, so edge goes to WL BR on that.

I like being in the main building with CC. But the WL BR building is SO close.

I LOVE the private type lobby and relaxing lounge type areas of the WL BR first floor. The fireplace. The reading/ quiet game room. Heaven. The lobby at the main lodge is busy and will be busier with the new Artist Point Snow White character dinners. Edge, BR.

We had 2 different Copper Creek rooms and feel the farther out from the lobby and elevator, the better for views. We were on upper floors. One room had the balcony in the roof line, and did not really like that, you had to stand to see the view. Both sides of the hall had nice views, we prefer the side facing the main pool but both sides are very nice. We were near the end of the hallway, and went up and down the stairs to refill cups at the pool station. CC is closer to refill cups.

WL BR is perhaps closer to the bus stop, but not by much, depends on your room location.

I love both, we own at WL BR now. My next trip is BR, and after that, it is CC!

I haven't stayed at Copper creek yet, but booked for our next trip. Our last trip we stayed at boulder ridge for a night which got me very excited for our CC stay.
One of my girls love to take baths at night. At BR ( and SSR - we did a night at each), the bathtub room didn't have a door to close it off from the bedroom while at CC it has a pocket door.

Thanks all so far (keep them coming). Pat has swayed me possibly towards BRV but I’m still not sure! Yes it’s one bed we go for, any further input would be appreciated, has anyone stayed at BRV and been able to hear buses?

They just renovated BRV a few years ago. Took out carpet, put in laminate, changed out soft goods completely, painted kitchen cabinets, changed out television cabinet. It was a full renovation.

There is no bus noise at BRV. Whoever said that just thought there would be noise because you are closer to the bus stop. No noise problem there. Request an odd numbered one bedroom to have the lake/pool view.

The walk from BRV to the main lodge is maybe two minutes. And the walkway is covered.

We've owned at VWL (BR) since inception and stay Thanksgiving week every year. Our last trip we noticed how pristine the entire property was including the seamless transition with CC and the enhanced facilities. Our 3 Rooms were well kept and all in great condition.

I have booked a cabin stay, two as a matter of fact and they were wonderful stays. I would have a hard time booking a villa at CC, even if one is available at 7 months. We are bringing friends to BRV this December. BRV is the Resort we fell in love with. The private lobby, with nooks and fireplaces to enjoy, cannot be beat for the Point price. Sure, a cabin is even more private, but a lot more costly.

Let me add. You mentioned the BRV lobby. It is beautiful and serene. Plus, at BRV you still have the advantage of the full resort experience with CCV/WL and of course the beautiful lobby mere steps away. Best of luck with your "no lose" decision.

Thanks, I think it is a no lose. I'm still leaning towards BRV.

We like going in the gym and see that is also in the BRV building. Is there one in the main building too? Anyone been in? Can't find any videos of it on YouTube. Our favourite WDW gym so far is the one at BWV.

I've stayed at BRV many times and CCV a few times. I really don't see any practical differences, except for the 5 people in a BRV studio, between the two. (Ironically when BRV, then called VWL, initially opened, the limit was 4 people in a studio too. It took years to add the extra sleeping space.) It seems to boil down to personal preferences and rationalizations for picking one over the other. If you flipped a coin you couldn't go wrong, whichever way it turned out. If you're leaning towards BRV, go with that, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Then you can try CCV next time. Have a great trip!

We stayed in a 1 bedroom at CCV last December. Resort is fantastic - you will love all the amenities no matter which you choose.

That said, I don't think there is enough space in the CCV 1 bedroom for a 'Readybed' blow up bed. You could probably find a place for it, but it would be very tight and the sofa bed would have to be used as is - not pulled out. Due to the layout, I can't think of any way for it to be placed that wouldn't present a problem if one of the teens needed to access the bathroom during the night. For that reason, I'd recommend you go with BRV. We haven't stayed there, but I believe the layout & size are very similar to the BWV 1 bedrooms and we often stay in those.

Of course, the best way to go would be a 2 bedroom. That way, you wouldn't need the blow up bed and no one would have to sleep in the kitchen/living area. That's so nice for those who like to get up early or stay up late. BRV/CCV point chart is one of the more reasonable ones for 2 bedrooms, too.

Good luck!

Great thanks all.
Carol that's really useful info re the ready bed, that seems to seal BRV for us.
Would love a 2 bed but I'm going for circa 20 days in an 8 month period and won't have the points.

The gym for all of WL/CCV/BRV is the location in the BRV building.

We own at BRV and I have had a single night stay in a CCV studio. Also just re-toured the CCV studio/1BR earlier this week. It has some upgrades over BRV without a doubt but given the choice I'm going with BRV. Yes, BRV has older style but it had a refurb a few years ago and is good. It also has more room in the living area vs CCV which would not be the easiest to throw a blow up bed into. BRV is a quiet respite. I also have the distinction of always getting assigned the bus side (well, I got one studio facing the main building once on a short trip). If you are assigned a room closer to the bus stop then yes, you can hear some bus noise but I never considered it intrusive in the room.

we have stayed at VWL long ago and will be back in FEB 2019 at now BR in a 1 bedroom. Just like being at BR for the quiet.
