Hi everyone! Just checkin' in. I've been MIA for a while so I just thought I'd say hey!! :) Ooooh. I just realized I have a LO to post!

Scrapped this up last night. I SWEAR I'll never finish this trip from Jan. 07! It's never ending!!!!

I'm home! Been at Disney since May 31, and oddly enough, I didn't take many photos, just wasn't in the picture taking mood. Most of my pics are of me trying to get good fireworks pics, and most are bad so lots to delete!

Welcome back, Fran! I was there last week, too, and I know what you mean about taking pictures. It's hard to get excited about carrying around a DSLR in the parks when it's 95 degrees everyday! I did get some photos, but I've deleted a lot, also. Hope you had fun. I didn't see you in the parks anywhere - I would have waved  !

For some reason I was in the mood today to work on some Gettysburg layouts.

Here is the cover I did the other day. Its simple. The photo was taken on my birthday last year at sunset.

Who Shot Maj. Gen. John F. Reynolds - Historians aren't quite sure who fired the shot who killed Reynolds. This monument is located at the site where he was wounded. I tried to make the title look like part of a newspaper article.

Eternal Peace Light Memorial - Another simple one, but I just loved the photograph. The first time we went it was next to impossible to get a photo without people in it. Last year we were the only ones at that spot. I was so stoked to get this shot. I used the clone tool in Photoshop to add more sky to fill the page. The photo corners are brushes.

Those are my most recent layouts. I have a bunch of Greenfield Village ones I did, but those aren't uploaded yet and I don't have time tonight to it. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

Yzerbear - I love your Gettysburg layouts, especially the cover. It looks like the cover of a coffee table book. Beautiful!

ITA, that's exactly what it looks like! The picture is also breathtaking! I also love the 2nd LO. :)

I know the feeling! I have zillions more LOs to do on my October album, and then I have a March trip to do!! (Just hoping I can at least finish the Oct album by our Sept trip, but I doubt it at this rate!) Love your LO, btw!! Though I didn't even see the alien embelishment until I read the credits. ;)

yzerbear - I just love all of your Gettsyburg LO's. They are simple and beautiful. It is amazing how well a good photograph can stand by itself and need very little embellishment to look stunning! That is going to be one special book when you finish it. Where will you get it printed?

My sister and I went down for the International Food Festival in October for a Girls Weekend, so of course the Princesses had to pose in front of Cinderella's Castle.

Yzer, your Gettysburg LOs are incredible! And mac, I love the way your pic goes off the left of the page! I'm gonna have to try that.

Sorry I've been MIA ladies (you knew you were thankful for a reason, right?). I've joined a couple of creative teams and that keeps me hopping. Plus I'm now designing for a couple of stores so I need to get some kits done and out so I can hopefully make a dollar or two so I can support my scrapping habit.

But I finally got a couple of LOs done.

On June 8 my eldest graduated "boot camp" in the Young Marines. This was a great accomplishment for him since he'd only been in since about the beginning of May or end of April. The other recruits in the class had been in since January, so he had some catching up to do... which he did admirably. I'm so proud of him!

And then there's one I did for my sister this morning. She just had a little grand-niece (the baby's parents are too young in my opinion!, but that's beside the point) and I thought she might like to have this. Out of respect for the baby and the parents I've pixelated them.

I had to pixelate the family out of respect for their privacty. But I finally had a little girl to design a page for so I got to use the pinks!

Okay... I'm off to try to sneak in some designing amongst the programming I'm supposed to be doing :rotfl2:

Hypermommy-- I'd love to check out your blog, but I couldn't find a link. Am I missing it? Feel free to send me a PM with your store info, too!

No, just me being a doofus. I put the graphic in and forgot to hook it up with a link. Should be fixed now.

I worked for someone once that said if you don't fall down now and again you must not be running fast enough. If that's the case I must be freakin' flying! :-)

Will PM you with the other. And thanks!

Oh, dear lord, that is the cutest puppy I have seen in a long time!! I LOVE Labs (could you have guessed that from my username??). That is one GORGEOUS dog. How old is he? (it is a he, right?) you are killing me, I want a puppy SO badly, but I want to wait until DS is a little older before I get our next dog. oooh, I can smell the puppy breath from here. Great LO!!

Thank you, Jack is now 4 years old, but he has a brand new cousin who is 10 weeks old. Here is her Puppy Announcment that I made for my sister to distribute to friends and family. I think I have a future in designing Puppy Announcements.

Jack and Fergie are really cousins, they have the same Grandfather and many other relatives too. I think she is just as cute as Jack was. It is funny that there are so many things that they do alike, must be a family thing!

I did take the photos of Fergie to do a Puppy Parts for her, I just need to get to it!

I did two pages of Pirate & Princess Party pictures tonight and wow, do I have a lot to go!! This is actually a two-page spread. Everything is from Britt-ish Designs, You can Quote me Pirates and Shiver Me Timbers. Journaling font is pieces of eight.

edited -- changed LO's slightly, realized a forgot a few shadows and I added "Enter here" to the arrow

Here is the layout I did for the Template challenge on Scrap Matters. I had such a hard time picking just one obsession. I *LOVE* the Counting Crows! They are by far my favorite band. I've seen them 7 times already and have tickets to see them again in August. The photos are from the concert last year in Grand Rapids. The trickiest part was getting a good photo of the CD to use since its reflective and the flash kept hitting it wrong. The photos are sort of blurry, but I really wanted to use my own photos instead of someone elses. The concert last year was so cool! It was a general admission at a ballpark where you could sit up in the stands or go down to the area by the stage. We sat up in the stands for most of it, but did go down to the stage area for a couple of songs. The lyrics on the side is from "Mr Jones" which is the song they were playing when I took the photos, which is also my favorite song. The best part of the concert was when he changed the one lyric from "symbolic" to "confused." :) Adam rules!!!

Layout for the Speed Scrap: California Dreamin

I struggled to think of a two word title since most of what I wanted to use were more than 2. I think it turned out pretty good. I used one of our pictures from our photopass CD that arrived last week. :) The photo was taken on our first day of our first visit. :)
