Labdogs -- I LOVE LOVE those LOs. What am I saying? I love all your LOs. I clicked on the Little Einstein one for the credits and it linked to scrap matters, but I couldn't find the credits. What am I doing wrong? Help. I can't wait to see your blog and to see Britt's album, but I need to do that later. Just wanted to leave a quick note about your LOs.

Hmmm...I think maybe the links got messed up when they put the LO's in the QOS gallery. I'll go up and just add them to my post here, too. Thanks for the head's up! Glad you liked the LO's!

This past weekend my sister and I went to Greenfield Village in Dearborn for Civil War Remembrance weekend. They have it every year and we've gone every year since 2002. So I have TONS of photos that I've done nothing with. Since they rarely change anything I decided to do a digital book using the photos from 2005-2008 becuase I have digital photos from those years.

So here is what I have done so far:

Title Page - I couldn't find the logo for Greenfield Village online so I did my best to recreate it. I got the fonts right, but the stars in the logo are a bit off, but pretty darn close. Its just a simple layout.

Firestone House - This is the house where Harvey Firestone, the tire dude, lived with his family. It was moved to Greenfield Village from Ohio in the 1980s. I wanted to keep the layouts are simple.

Firestone farm is a "working farm" which means they plant real crops in the fields and use 1880s methods. They also usually have people in the kitchen cooking to show how it was done in the 1880s. This is one of our favorite homes, which is why it has so many pages because we take lots of photos of it! LOL

Jessica-Ooh, I love your LOs! The DHS one epsecially catches my eye!

britt-The chipboard album came out fantastic!! I've never tried one, though I've been tempted to try acrylic albums. I bet your LOs would look awesome on those, too!

Yzer-I love all your simple, but elegent, historic pages. I think I'm just going to have you do my historic related LOs for me. ::yes:: I have so many local museum & historic pics I want to scrap, but at this rate, maybe I should just do them digitally.

Oh, how fun! This reminds me of a colonial farmstead they have in my area (though it's from the 1600s, but the same thing with having people cook, clean, churn butter, etc like they did that time.) I went when I was in maybe 5th grade or so, but this LO makes me want to go back now!! Last summer, I did the historic sites like the Liberty Bell, Indepedence Hall for the first time since I was a kid, and had so much fun.

I wanted to see the credits because I was curious about the alpha used to make "playhouse" From your credits it looks like you did it yourself with the arial black font?? How did you get the letters to be one color and the borders to be yellow? Did you use a yellow-colored shadow? I have not done my Playhouse Disney pictures yet, but I want to keep this trick in mind. I am still keeping in mind the other playhouse trick from you (putting 2 mickey heads on top of each other just the way playhouse disney does it!)

Yzerbear -- once again, your historic pictures are wonderful. Just ask KSMW said: simple and elegant

I did the first copy of playhouse with the different colored letters, then I copied and pasted it as a new text box and changed the color to the yellow on all the letters, then I unlocked the aspect ratio of the text box, moved the layer with the yellow behind the multi-colored one, and resized and moved it around until the yellow letters were in the right place to make them look like shadows. There may have been an easier way to do it, but I couldn't figure one out, so that's what I did!! Glad you like it! I originally just had a yellow strip behind the word playhouse, but I didn't like it. This took a little tweaking, but I like the result a lot!

Did everyone see Britt's new kit and freebie today? They are on her blog and those Tink lovers are going to Loooove this one!! :wizard: Erica Zane has a little freebie to go along with the kit, too!!

Wright family home - This is the house where Orville and Wilbur lived when they built the airplane. One of them died here, I can't remember which one. The Wrights lived here until 1913 (I think thats the right date).

Been quiet around here this weekend. What has everyone been doing? I've been doing a few challenges here and there. Nothing that I'm particularly thrilled with until tonight. I got back to the cruise pages and the next one due was Grand Cayman day. So here 'tis. As always, click for credits.

Hi Everyone,

Just checking in to say "hi" from the Boardwalk at WDW! This free internet is great! Had a busy day yesterday. Took pictures since it was the last day of Flower and Garden. I got a great picture of the Peter Pan topiary with the "real" Peter in the background. A great picture to use with Britt's kit. Heading out to DHS now.

Great page! Though I have one suggestion. The picture with the frog feels sort of hidden and it almost gets lost. Maybe shift the one picture over a bit to give the frog one a bit more space. Other than that its great. I love how you incorporated the dollar bill.

Pam,

I can't wait to see that picture! Have a great time. We will be in WDW on Sunday!!! i think it has been quite because a few people are at WDW this week.

Safe Travel,

Jennifer

Great idea! Thanks!!

I did this LO for the Scrapmatters "so me" challenge. I spent forever trying to get it the way I wanted, and it never worked out right, but I'm happy with the result. Yzer told me elsewhere that this LO is definitely me. Even separate from the item itself, I think just the style is me. Clearly I love the glitz & bling that I have on the LO. For the 7 months or so since I got back from Disney, I've found some way to get something Disney into my life every day. So, there's a dash of Disney in this LO with britt's minnie alpha.

OMG, I love that! I love Tink (don't ask how many Tink shirts and such I have!) I *ran* to download this!

There's no image.....

Lovely work ladies.
I got Britt's new kit and my eldest has been a major Tink freak for years but do I have any pics to use? She says she will get Tink'd out and let me do a photo shoot. We shall see....

Hi EVERYONE! Sorry I've been so out of the loop this week! Busy busy busy.

I forgot to wrangle someone up to host this week's challenge, so I'll do it! I'm actually pretty excited to host! Check the new challenge out HERE!

xoxo

Cool Britt! I've been out of the loop myself, my mojo is MIA it seems.:confused3

Okay, this has nothing to do with scrapping but I'm wondering if you guys can help me or tell me where to post this to find help. My eldest is a MAJOR Tink freak and her bday is coming up in August. We saw some Tink initial pendants a Kmart and she went nuts but they don't have a "T." I went to their website but they only show watches. I've tried a million web searches and have only found one place but they only go up to "S.":( Can you guys help? They look like this:

Oh my gosh! So cute!!!! I will go check my Kmart for you today! It's really close to my house. No idea if they'll have 'em but you never know!
