Digital Scrappers - Post pages here!!!

I just started doing scrapbooking. My Disney pages are the first digital pages I have done. I did a few scrapbook pages 'traditionally' but with two very young kids it just wasn't practical for me. I could only work on it at night after their bedtime and then I would have to take everything out and then pack everything up when I was done since I don't have an area of my house I could dedicate to scrapbooking.

Digital just worked out great for me. I use Paint Shop Pro X and it is on my laptop and I can be scrapbooking anywhere while I watch the kids play with no mess and I don't have to worry about little fingers. My favorite sites for learning how to use my program have been http://scrapbook-bytes.com/ and http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com
Do you print a 12x12? And if so, do you send it in for someone to do or print it yourself and how?

Thanks!

PS: Your pages are GORGEOUS!

Wow,
I visited one of the sights recommended for digi pages. It looks very expensive and once you print it, it appears to be more than if you just printed pictures for 12cents at Winkflash.com and did the layout with paper.

What do ya'll find with that and cost? I like the 12x12 albums and the one sight said it costs about $3 to print out one page that size. And that's after you "buy" the things from these scrapbooking sights, correct?

I might have to stick to good 'ole fashioned scrapbooking, even if this other way would be easier!:sad2:

BTW... Great pages, gals! YOu guys have done a wonderful job with your pages. Very inspiring.

Thank you for sharing them!

Thanks so much!!!! I am actually designing my pages at 12x12 so I can print them that size if I want but I have been reducing the size to 8x8 so I can print them at home on my own printer. I do have several pages that I want to print 12x12 and I have been researching options for printing. I think that when I do decide to have them printed, I will probably choose www.sbtoshare.com which will print on paper for $1.50 per 12x12 page or $2 per page on a card stock. There is a S&H charge of $6 per order...no matter how many pages you are printing.

There is nothing else that you have to buy.... The beauty of digiscrapping is that there are TONS of freebies all over the web and then when you have some experience, you can design your own papers/elements ect. I recently figured out you can participate in challanges at different scrapping sites and get kits/papers for free for participating. Then there are free newsletters you can subscribe to which have lots of FREE stuff in them (I LOVE the monthly NEWSLETTER from www.sbelements.com)

I personally think that digiscrapping is much cheaper. I have spent maybe about $30 on digital kits but I can use them OVER & OVER unlike traditional scrapping supplies. The money I would have spent on special stamps/sissors/markers/trimmers ect for traditional scrapbooking is less than I spent on the program I use to digiscrap and there is NO MESS which I love. I can bring my laptop anywhere and scrap away....

I have also just starting scrapping bragbook size pages 4x6 so I can have them printed for 12 cents and then just put them in a small photo album. I am working on Christmas gifts for the grandparents) I am heading out for the day now but I will try to post some of my bragbook pages here so you can see what I am talking about later today.

What a great idea. I never even thought of that!:cutie: Does your program allow you to do layouts at 4 x6? I might need to do that. Do you have any eg to post

I've just had my first layouts printed 12 by 12 by sbtoshare.com and the quality is really super. They packaged them up nice for shipping too. I ordered one of each style so I could compare. The print quality on all was very nice and the same across the board. The 1.50 one feel like a thicker page from a magizine and the card stock feels like card stock. The ones printed without the boarder fit just about perfectly into my Creative Memories album with very minor trimming (very minor) and the ones with the boarder, obviously, were a true 12 by 12 and so would need trimming for the CM album but I guess would go into another album just right. My only complaint is that I don't totally care for the boarder and would like a true 12 by 12 edge to edge, but that's not something they had as a choice. I have no idea why.

As far as money on digi scapping. There's tons of freebies out there and you can use the things over and over again, which is very nice. I think there are pros and cons for both paper and digi and I like both. What puts me over the edge on digi is my dining room doesn't get messed up with my things (especially during the holidays when I have time to scrap but don't want to mess up the house) I don't wind up with cat prints on my things with digi scrapping. How the cats always know when I'm not looking is one of the mysteries of the ages I'll tell ya. On the other hand, I find paper scrapping soothing in some strange way that I don't with the computer. I work all day on the computer and sometimes I just can't face another one when I get home. And I STILL cannnot get my pictures to resize right. (how I keep making something so simple so hard I'll never know.)

So for me I'll continue to do both I think. But I find the idea of those brag books very interesting and am waiting for a sample! popcorn::

Digital scrapping is by far cheaper in the long run. I have spent less then $50-60 total, and I have so many kits that I have to delete tons of them because my hard drive is too full! The amount of freebies you can find is mind boggling.

I have also done a brag book of this past summer and they are on my own website. Click here if you want to see them. There are almost 60 of them, and because of the quick pages I found for free online, I did them all in about a week. There is a Digital Scrapping FAQ that is stickied here, I would suggest reading it, as I wrote quite a lot about the pros and cons about it and if it may be for you.

I am currently getting ready to print my last Disney trip. I am getting them printed in a hard bound coffee table type book. It will cost $30 for the basic book, plus $1 for each extra paper. You can't beat that price, with single pages printed or anything done with paper scrapping. Plus I have a 20% off coupon that expires next week.

Who do you print with??

I just recently discovered digital scrapbooking and my first scrapbook was of a quick weekend trip I took to Disneyland in March. I didn't have a lot of pictures so I just did an 8 x 8 album. I really love digital!

I have to tell ya'll that I am so psyched to start. I have a TON (probably literally) of scrapbooking papers, stickers, etc.

So what I have decided is that the photos I already have printed I will finish out with traditional scrapbooking but the newer ones, I will digi them and see what I like.

I have seen some of the neatest photo effects and such with the lo ya'll shared that you just can't get with traditional.

Someone said that you can digi the page and print it and then add your receipts or what not and still get that 3-D effect.

And the BEST part is my DH is all for the digiscrapping. He too, gets tired of the mess!

Love your pages! Where did you get the Disney elements to your pages? Did you purchase them somewhere? Please share! :-)

Hi Lisa,

On the Scrapbook Elements site, do you need to wait for the newsletter in order to receive their "freebies" or is there a link I am overlooking on their site?

Thanks!

I purchased the Disney elements on Ebay! Just type in Disney Digital Scrapbooking and you will find quite a bit of stuff!

It's ok..... wish I had more elements and such.

Oh, how do you post your images?
