Hello scrappers!

Some of you saw my DCL digital SB that I did and wondered what I was going to do with the layouts. Well, I haven't gotten around to getting the DCL album printed but I did do a smaller more basic album for my niece's upcoming 1st birthday.

I used 1-2 photos per page, one background and one embellishment per page. It took me about 5 hours to finish and then I uploaded the photos to easypix (so I can pick it up locally at Shopper's Drug Mart that a kind DISer told me about! Thanks pjpoohbear!!) and five days and only $42 CDN later, I had the book in my hand. It looks very nice!

Here's some photos for you:

WOW! Your scrapbook is amazing!

Very simple in design, yet very elegant... The pictures just pull you into the fact of how beautiful your niece is...

This is definately a book I wish I had the creativity to make!

Very nice, thanks for sharing!! :thumbsup2

I love these books! I did a similar one of our last WDW/DCL trip on Shutterfly, but I put a varied amount of pictures on each page - some pages had just one huge picture, others had two, some had up to six, grouped according to day/subject. It's leather bound, and very thin which is great for storage. I think I had about 120 photos in all (added extra pages @ $.80 per page), the entire book cost about $60 to do (and 12 hours worth of time, in part because I "lost" my uploaded photos twice). It arrived in the mail 2 or 3 days after I ordered it. These are a wonderful gift idea! I don't think the Shutterfly package has a scrapbook option, but I'm not sure. My pages had a "travel" theme, with little boats and things on the pages.

MickeyCrazed,

I am sure you could do it easily, you only need the basic tools in a design program to do it, it's very easy! :thumbsup2

Pea-n-Me,

The layouts, including the backgrounds and small embellishment were made by me in Photoshop, it wasn't an option while I was creating the book online. But I do know what you are talking about, they have different backgrounds and stuff that you can use to enhance your photos. I like to have more control of stuff so I create one big jpg with everything I want in photoshop then just upload the jpg and it takes up the whole page

Love your book! I am new to the digital scrapbooking and love your work.

This may be a stupid question but I would love to digiscrap our Disney trip and am curious if I do a layout in PSE with Disney background/character clipart will I be able to have it put in a photobook without infringing on copyright issues?

TIA!

Cass, girl you should be teaching an on-line class on this.

nicki dahling,

LOL You are WAY too kind girl!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

mommy2emmersNmo,

As long as you are not going to sell it or use the Disney stuff for profit, I don't think they will mind :rolleyes1 If it's just for your own personal use, no big deal!

VERY nice!!!

This easypix? It's an Canadain website. Is there a US version?

Splsh,

Yes, easypix is Canadian but there are tons of places to get it done in the U.S. In fact, I just got an e-mail from Shutterfly and they have a whole bunch of new sizes now!!! I am going to go check it out. Still haven't decided on where to get my DCL album printed.
