Digital Membership Cards?

Wouldn't she have to be there to do that though as she would have to show matching ID? His card might be in the wallet but if he doesn't have any accounts set up then it wouldn't show the DVC Y for him to get the discount on his own.
I was just typing this. The digital card in her wallet will have her name on it.

. It is probably best to set it up it could work if using the phone with the ID would work because many CMs have told me that IDs won’t always be required when showing using watch and phone.

I wanted to do multiple quotes - still have not figured that out. I used to do it before they changed the format here - years ago :rolleyes: See how tech savvy I am......

My son downloaded/put both my Membership card and my DH/s Membership card on my iPhone Wallet - I see both cards. Does it matter who is carrying the phone? How would Disney know if it's my phone or his. He will have his own ID/Driver's license/Old DVC Membership card - whatever they need. We can save a lot of trouble and call MS and stay on the phone for an hour to give him is own Member Log In and set up MDE - but who knows if and when he will use it again on his own. He will never play golf alone and if he ever wants to play down the road with my sons, they are both DVC Members.

Just crazy and a waste of time to do all this. Might give in before we leave and go through the steps. He might not even play or they might play outside of the resort. Our friends are staying at one of the Marriotts.

I will report back if I remember :)

If the phone allows more than one, then it is not an issue-on it being your phone.

It is whether or not the CM will accept that your says DVC but your husband does not because he doesn’t have his own account.

Now that I think about it more, I wonder if you will have to set it up eventually since I forgot you can load a lot of people to your phone for MM.

Some have mentioned they were able to get club ID and activation code via chat to set up a spouse.

As you can see, exactly 45 minutes before MS answered BUT - I was on chat #10 on queue - took about 15 minutes. Milo was very nice and helpful. Gave me Club Code and one time activation code. I was still on hold with MS when I finished with Milo.

I tried to create the account BUT - there was a 0 - I tried lower case o, upper case O - I thought I tried the 0 (zero) but kept telling me to check code.

Just as I was getting more frustrated, MS picked up - perfect timing. After telling the CM my issue, she put me on hold, came back and read me the code - okay. Created an account for DH while she was on the phone. All good!!!!

Will need to create MDE for him and then download his own card on his own phone. Almost there!!!! Oh and hopefully no issues with showing Discount or No Discount. Mine is good to go.

I'm confused as to how your son could download the new digital membership card for your DH if he doesn't have a member log in or MDE? If that is so nobody cares that it's your phone but from all info I would not have thought that was possible.

And if your son could do that then why not onto your DH's phone, assuming he has a smart phone?

I honestly have no clue.........I should try things on my own or I will never learn.

I will try to set up MDE for him. Should not have an issue. I am not so sure I want to try to download the card. I can probably do it if I look at the video over and over and over :teeth:. I get lazy, frustrated and give up easily.

I asked the CM if he could have just used my phone - she said no. I still don't see why not. DH wanted me to try so I did.

If you're fine without your phone I wouldn't even bother. If it has the digital card with your husbands name and it's the correct designation with a Y then just let him borrow it.

But I'm still puzzled how your son could have done that though.

Created/registered DH for MDE. I did not link anything to him. Now curious if he needs to download the app on his phone or can he just add the card to his "wallet" - he does not have an iPhone. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I see my son.

I can ask him - not sure I will "get it" or he might say, it was easy. Will report back tomorrow on this.
 
New DVC member here. Bought 375 Riviera points direct. Just did orientation call and got MDE connected to my DVC account. Noticed blue card has affiliation: DVC ND. Orientation CM tried a few steps to correct but no luck. Next trip isn’t until thanksgiving week so not too worried about it but thought I would share.
 
My DH didn't have his own DVC or MDE account and he had to establish an account before any DVC related card showed up. His AP was there and was a card, but not DVC. CM helped us set up his accounts and of course we have the ND instead of the Y. CM noted our discount code is wrong, but 2 weeks later and several attempts to hack have not fixed the ND issue.

This shows how the situation is even more ridiculous than we thought - brand new DVC member with direct points, and they still can't get the pass to show correct affiliation. Honestly I think they'd do better if they fired all of Disney IT and started over again.

Then your DVC affiliation would likely read "DVC - Welcome to Westgate".

As bad as things are, it CAN get worse. Changing horses mid-race is rarely a good option.
 
Another reason why I am not so sure this whole set up for DH is worth for a "maybe" need to use discount.

Adding this text - about an hour later - went to my wallet and looked at my card - when you open it up - it shows MDE installed, my name, affiliation (AP & Discount) and ID #. When I go to DH card, it shows MDE installed (just did it last night), guest name and ID. No affiliation - so would not show any discount and AP holder. Now that it's there - not sure what the purpose is of having it in my wallet and/or allowing to add anyone on it. This is leading me to think, to I need to link his AP to his MDE? Will find out later. Just don't want anything getting messed up.

I did speak to my sales representative about the issue. Based on his reaction I am not the only new member this has happened to. I will try calling the IT team when I have time.
