Okay - I WANT pictures...but I DONT WANT to check my camera in a locker...

I'm planning to ride HULK and we are going to see Blue Man Group.;)...Going to US/IoA/ BMG 5/26........

SO - Do I leave the Digital Camera in the room...or do I bring it....It can second as a purse....OR..... I usually bring one of those "Tuck into my shirt" kinda purses....and that's all I need with TIckets, lip gloss, perfume sample, debit card, ID, etc.

It's just DS and me.....and I really want pics...but if it depends on reserving a locker for it...I just may pass on that....

Does that make sense?

Your opinions.....

We have "Poncho Seats" for BMG.....does that mean I bring a Ziploc for my camera???????? NEED ADVICE HELP!

Hugs,
Mary

The Hulk has free lockers if you want to bring your camera to the park. I would highly discourage you from taking your camera on Hulk even if it is in your pocket. The Hulk eats cellphones, cameras, sunglasses, and hats. Many of these items are never recovered because most of the ride is over water. You don't want to know what a camera looks like after it has fallen from the Hulk. It is not pretty.

So if you do bring the camera please utilize the free locker while you ride.

As far as BMG, you can put your camera in a ziplock bag or ask for a free plastic merchandise bag from one of the stores. Your camera will be fine at BMG.

Hi Neighbor! We're in Denham! :flower3:

We'll be there from the 23rd to the 30th. (4 adults and 3 kids who are finally tall enough to ride everything! YAY!) I will likely be carrying my camera everywhere with me. (Except the coasters! LOL!) I'm even bringing an old one to take on the water rides. ;) If there's a free locker, I'll use that. Otherwise, we're renting a locker each day. (DH's company is paying for it to make sure he's accessable...long story.:sad2:) For the first day I'll bring the *cheapy* camera...then a few days in, I'm going to take a break from the *big rides* and bring my good camera. (And if I decide I want to ride I'll stick it in the locker with DH's stuff. ;) )

I always wear my cargo shorts that have button closures for the camera, keys, etc. Definately bring it with you but make sure it's secure before riding anything.

I agree with the cargo shorts. There are plenty of cute shorts with big enough pockets for digital cameras these days! That's all I wear to the parks, although we normally bring a backpack, too. :thumbsup2

I always carry mine with me. I have a little waterproof pouch that fits around my neck via a long string. I put my camera in the pouch, tuck it under my shirt, & off on the coasters I go.

I love to bring my Casio Exilim to any theme park- it's so tiny/thin. I always also carry a small ziploc bag, just in case. I have a small sling type travel bag which I hardly know is there. I would use the free locker at Hulk, because you are so tightly in your seat, better safe than sorry. (My husband is a pro photographer, and he will bring his Nikon and probably just skip the rides you really can't carry the camera on- not an option for me!)

Thanks a bunch for all the replies!

Now I'm leaning towards the locker.....

I would just hate to lose my camera for some reason.....

This will be my first time to ride Hulk (If I Dare to...) usually I'm the Mom hanging around the exit looking at all the Stuff in the water.....hats, water bottles, shoes....etc...so I guess you're all right....I'd probably lose it ....

(Hey Kangareaux! - Have a Great Vaca!)

If you do decide to bring your camera and put it into your pocket BEWARE

I bought a brand new slim & sleek digital camera last year just for this purpose. I put it into my pocket while on the mummy and later on that day noticed that the LCD screen was smashed

I must have bumped it up against the seat while on the ride.

Luckily I had bought the extended warranty and was able to exchange it at Best Buy when we returned home. :woohoo:

This year I'll make sure I am more careful with it.
