Maybe this have been answered before, however, being a FatCow, I have to voice my opinion.

1. The more pixels the better, not because of print size, but it will give you the flexibility to re-frame your shot after you got home. Maybe you'll only need a third of the frame to be printed. 33% of 5.2MP will yield much better picture than 33% of 3.2 MP, obviously.

2. There are more things than just MP. Such as colour accuracy, white-balance compensation, flash power, lens ("the wider, the better" and NOT necessarily "the more zoom, the better")

3. Will you outgrow a 3.2MP? Yes you will, but it depends on how soon. If you think you'll outgrow it in 2 years, get the 3.2MP now and get a better camera in 2 years. It'll be that much cheaper then.

PS: The Mavica is not using Mini Disc, but using Mini CD. Very different technology. One is Magneto Optical, the other is Optical.
