Guys,

I know little to nothing about digital cameras - however, that hasn't stopped me from deciding to buy a Fuji A330 - 3.2 MP. My question is - the memory card, Sams Club has a Fuji 256 memory card for $79.82 - Walmart has a 256 XDigital Media memory card for less - is there any difference in quality of memory cards? Should I stick with Fuji cards? Thanks.

I have a Sony camera, and their memory stick is used by Sony only (I think), but other media storage companies make the sticks as well Lexar, Sandisk etc. I have used all 3 (Sony, Lexar Media and Sandisk) with no problems. Check buy.com or jr.com they usually have the best prices.

As long as you buy the correct media type (in your case the xD media card) you will be fine buying any brand.

Don't pay more than $50 (after rebate) for a 256 mb card from any manufacturer. I'd stay with a name brand... SanDisk, Lexar, Memorex come to mind. You can also check out pricegrabber.com

Edited to add, this advice is for Comapct Flash type I cards... pretty sure that's what Fuji uses.

Compact Flash is the most common media, and the least costly, however, media brands, (of obviously same media types) are all pretty much the same. I have used/do use several and never see a difference. Check www.buy.com and www.ecost.com, and maybe www.overstock.com in addition to those mentioned above. You might take a look also at using www.ebates.com as a portal to any of those for additional savings. Good luck, enjoy.
