Digital Camera Card Error Question

I have a 128MB card for my digital camera and out of the blue when I try to take a picture it says "card error". If I put the card in my printer I get an error message on the computer screen that say to remove the "write protection" on the card. I'm not sure if I hit something by accident or if it is just the card will not work any longer. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove the "write protection" like the message said? Sorry, I'm at a loss as to what it means. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

I've no idea ;) but asked my DH and he said on his card there is a little slider which you move to write protect it, and he thinks it's possible to move it by mistake, hope this helps :thumbsup2

Most cards have some sort of sliding plastic tab to enable write protection. You may experiment with the tab either full up or full down to disable write protection.
Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I just looked at the card. It is a SmartMedia card. It is flat and I don't see anywhere that has a button or slide. I'm trying to find my manual that came with the camera to see if I did something while the card was in the camera. I'll keep trying.
