Digging for discounts

So I have been looking through these forums for about the past month getting ready to go to Universal once HP opens. I've discovered some pretty good discounts so far:

-AAA 7 day 2 park tickets for $106.

-The AAA discount or the stay more play more promotion for the hotels.

-Southwest's summer prices just dropped a good $20 each way(we need Southwest because of all the souvenirs we are going to be bringing back, can't be paying that much for checking bags).

-then the AAA discount that you can use in some souvenir stores/restaurants.

We are going to try and book the Hard Rock Hotel, and there are 5 of us (poor college students or just out of college). So splitting the room 5 ways should help with costs a lot.

I was also thinking of hiring one of the town car services that lets you make a short grocery stop, that way we can probably eat most breakfasts in the room and also have some drinks and snacks. I am not really sure which town car service to go with yet, so if anyone has any recommendations that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Am I missing anything that you guys can think of? Being college students or freshly graduated from college, we are trying to plan the best, yet most practical, trip that can be managed.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

If you are college graduates you are young and strong enough to walk off site, it is about a mile to International Drive or you can catch a bus. Just about anything you need you can get for a lot less than you could buy it at Universal.

Do you mean take a bus from the airport? Are there buses that go from the airport to Universal? I think we'll pretty much have everything we need if we make the grocery stop.

take Lynx Bus #42 from MCO TO INTERNATIONAL DRIVE ;) I ALWAYS DO THAT :goodvibes

There's a "Bonus 2-park ticket" which is 14 days access to both parks for $144. I'd found the discount on the UK site, although by calling the US office, after some hunting she found that ticket and booked it for us (had originally bought through US office which is why I had to cancel and re-book through them). But 14 days may be too much for you :)

If you can still find these at your local office that is great!

Stay more Save more will be cheaper but last time I checked ours I had to to book August 22 to get the greatest discount...if your dates are open play around with them alot to get the best deal or call the hotel directly.

After the first two adults in the room it is an additional $25 per adult I believe. :scared1:

Never done this but someone will chime in. I would definitely want to do this over catching a bus with all my stuff, and with a free grocery stop you're good to go.

You sound like you've done your research! Buy the refillable cups in the park. Refills are less than a dollar! Water of course is free. Most of all enjoy :woohoo::wizard:
