Does anyone have any advice on adding one person to an ADR? I have called two days in a row but have been told there is no way I can add one person. We are traveling with another family, and one of their relatives lives near by and would like to come visit them(we are staying at the Fort). We have ADR's at Chef Mickey's that night, and Ohana's in the morning. Any advice on a way to get one more seat? Would it be a major NO NO to just go with one more person and see if she can sit with us?

I don't know if anyone has had experience with just showing up with an extra person- but I would advise against it especially if it changes the 'top' size of your table (ie, 3 people instead of two, or seven people instead of six) they have gotten really weird in the past couple years since dining plan about adding extra people on and those are two popular restaurants.

We ended up changing all of our ADR's for our recent trip from 4 to 5- no small feat during free dining- and we were successful for all but one place, Le Cellier. we had never eaten there so we told the friend who was supposed to tag along with us about it- and she booked a separate dinner ressie for herself and me (I was going to take one for the team so to speak and let my family eat at le Cellier without me.)
Well, long story short the friend didn't end up going on our trip so all our ressies except that one were for five instead of four- and I did not attempt to change them because nothing was available. They never gave us a problem about having one less person- but with one more, believe it or not it's not as simple as just pulling up a chair to your table.

Why can't your freind's relative just meet them for coffee or come spend a day in the park? If they're local they would hopefully understand that especially considering how busy some times are at these places, that you can't always just add one on. When I asked Disney Dining about just showing up with an extra person, the CM about fainted and acted like I'd asked him if I could have the moon on a platter for dessert LOL. He said that he definitely did not recommend it.

I wish you the best of luck!

p.s. I would keep calling though to try to add the one person on! Try adjusting the time of your ADR a little if you're willing, or if you're able swapping days at each restaurant and you might find a table the size you need. Just be sure they don't cancel your original ressie until they've booked any new one they might say is available! The bigger the party though the harder it gets to make these alterations. Again good luck and I hope this is typed correctly I left my glasses upstairs and even with the magnifier thingie I'm blind as a bat at the moment LOL

You can do one of two (or more:goodvibes ) things:

1. Leave the ADRs as they are and show up a little bit early to your ADRs and explain you have an additional person in your ressie. You may have to wait a bit more, but likely not.

2. Keep calling and see if you can do the addition. The downside is that many mistakes have been made by doing this and your ADR maybe wrong or even lost. Make sure you keep all your confirmation #s with you.

We recently added 1 person to our trip, and were able to add her to all but one ADR.

Thank you for your responses. I will keep calling. We will figure it out. I kept telling this family to find out what the family member was doing so I could add her, but they just now told me. We leave for Disney Thursday. AAhhh. They have never been before, they just don't understand.:headache:

We were just there Sept 15-22 and we had 1 more person than the ADR's we had made. We werent' able to add them before going so we just took the chance and showed up.

Not once did anyone question it. We checked in and said we had 13 instead of 12. And they said ok here is your beeper.

I would just show up and let them know when you check in.

Oh and we had ADR's at

Chef Mickey's, Ohana, Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic package and the playhouse play and dine, Grand Floridian Cafe, Crystal Palace, Donald's Breakfastauraus,

I would recommend the "just show up" method. We have attempted to add people to ADRs (usually with less than a week notice) and have never been successful in keeping the same ADR time slot. Once the addition was a CM who actually works with the ADR system and they could not even make the change themselves without moving us to a different ADR time.

This is less a matter of finding a CM who will do it for you rather than either a limitation in the computer system or ADR availability.

We showed up at Boma's in June with an extra person...no issues at all.

I agree with PPs - just show up with the extra person - the CMs at the restaurant will do everything they can to accomodate you. I've been told by CMs at the restaurants that the ones who make the ADRs are only looking at a computer screen and aren't really aware of what actually goes on at the restaurants. We had no problems at all adding a 7th person to all of our tables during Easter week at Le Cellier, LTT, 1900PF, CP and Sci-Fi. Have a great trip!

probably not popular...but c'est la vie. My mom and my friends' mom were added after we made all of our ADR's....some we were able to chage, but others we were not and were advised just to go with the extra person (which we did) It was at the peak of free dining, and it was never an "issue". We were even told when we made the ressies we might not all be seated together, but that was never the case....I'd just show up and "gee golly wiz" they must have made the reservation for the incorrect amount of people...

Well, thanks for all the advice. I called again today to see if we could change it, and the ADR fairy must have worked some magic because when the CM on the phone said that our ADR's were for 9. Imagine that. So it looks as though we are all set! ONE MORE DAY!:dancer:
