Difficult to get THV @ 7 mos out?

We are talking about trying to take my cousin and her family with us next October and if we do, want to be in a Treehouse. They need as much advance notice to save as possible but I would have to waitlisted in order to get into one. If we couldn't get a villa, I'm not sure that I would use the points to use a 2BR since there isn't the same amount of space. I love the 2 bedrooms and the bunkbed room for the kids in the Treehouse. It would be perfect for traveling with another couple!

Has anyone had issues with getting into THV at the 7 month mark? I know a lot could change between now and NEXT October, but I want to get the wheels in motion with them.... I just wasn't sure how popular they are.

Treehouses are one of the hardest reservation to get right now (only 30 units declared) so the likelyhood is low at 7 months, but you never know

This. Some people buy into SSR just so they have the 11 month window on the Treehouses.

Reports I have seen on these boards so far indicates that members have generally not been to THVs at 7 months although you never know until you try.

October is Food & Wine Festival, and for this year I haven't found any openings for a long weekend anywhere but at Saratoga Springs (the main resort). All the DVC resorts seem to be busy in October.

We are staying 10 nights in a THV arriving on 9/21 that was booked at the 7month mark without going on the waitlst, it was our first choice of dates, booked the first 7 than added the next 3 day by day. So it is not out of the question.

That is great news!!! If it works for us, great, if not, oh well. We are discussing this for 2011 and lots could change between now and then!!

We own at BCV so I am very familiar with the coveted October bookings during F&W!!!

Glad to hear someone was able to book, although, that is a very quiet time of year! Time will tell!
