My friend is coming for breakfast with DH and myself at the Grand Floridian on the last day of her WDW trip. She is staying at Port Orleans. She travels with only a carryon and would like to know if she could catch the bus to the airport from the Grand Floridian instead of heading back to POFQ?

Currently not allowed.

It might be allowed in the future (along with Magical Express homebound departures from parks) but there is at least one problem to address, namely there could be an overload of guests scheduled to leave from certain locations such as resorts next to Magic Kingdom.

Also additional room for error where guests are scheduled to leave from the wrong resort and did not inspect their documents carefully.

No, you must catch ME from the resort where you stayed.

That being said, do you have the dining plan? If not, could you add your friend to your reservation for the last night? There might be a charge for that though.

You can add people for your stay any time during the week, with the extra adult charge only. You have to do it at the time they check-in to the resort, so as to not effect your package.

That being said, that is a good idea. If she is not less than 45 days out, she would take off the last day and then pay the extra adult fee and stay with them at the GF and they could all leave together from the resort.

Based on the OP's first message, I think it's the friend's last day, not theirs. Nevertheless, it seems she could still be added to their GF reservation for one night and either stay with them or not that night. Then she could have arranged for ME from GF for her last day's trip to the airport.

I was thinking her NOT stay at the GF that night, just have her on the reservation. Of course, if this an extra fee (which I think it is), someone is going to have to decide if the extra fee is worth not returning to POFQ.

That makes sense to me and would be worth $15.

My error. I forgot they were staying at GF. You are correct.

Funny thing is, I've never been charged the extra person fee!

But back on topic...the idea of adding the friend to the room for the night is a great one.
