We have the pirate cruise scheduled, they had us put down a credit card to secure it, so my question is, when you get to the Marina, do you pay for it then, or do they just put it on the card that you secured it with?

The credit card is just to hold it. You have the option of paying with cash or leaving it on your charge.

My boys had a great time! They were 3 and 6 at the time and really enjoyed showing off all their "loot".

Last June they charge our credit card even before we showed up. I think they charged it the day before, not sure. But we did not pay anything when we dropped my son off.

Since this is a Grand Floridian activity, I'm going to move this to our resorts board for you.

Just returned a few weeks ago. Our three kids did the Pirate Cruise. We reserved the cruise using a credit card (like everyone else), but paid with cash when we got there. We just made sure the charge didn't show up on our bill.

I had a different experience than Kashkdz. My daughter did the cruise during the last week of October. I wanted to pay in cash but they had already charged my credit card. My receipt had already been pre-printed.

We just came back and DD did the PC on the 19th. We used a CC to secure the ressie and when we checked in were asked how we wanted to pay. We paid cash. FYI it rain that day and they didn't cancell the cruise like I thought. So, keep that in mind if it rains, don't assume it is cancelled and not show up, they will charge you.

DD had a great time. The total with tax was $30.01

There seems to be a lot of confusion over this. When I talked to someone at WDW Dining back in October, she checked with her supervisor and said the card IS charged 24 hours before...it's not just a hold like most people think. HOWEVER...when we checked in at the marina..the woman told us the cards were mistakenly NOT charged, no one had put the billing through and we had to pay there. I think it just depends on if someone does the billing the night before. If they don't, you pay upon arrival. I know when we went a lot of people had left their money and credit cards in their rooms at their resort because they were told that the cards would be charged BEFORE the cruise.

So...I would just make sure you do have money on the cc that you use when making the reservation in case they DO charge the night before like they are supposed to.
