Different ages in kids.....

I am planning on going to WDW in the begining of November with a family of 5. I have a ds that will be 8 and a dd that is 3 and a dd that is 1. Is there any tips or ideas that anyone could give me with my kids ages? Is there any advise whats best for the big age gap between my girls and my son? I am getting worried that this is going to be more work than fun with my girls. If you went to WDW with babies the same age as mine how did it go? What did you do to make things easier? What things were a must to take with you to the parks for them? My dates are for Nov 3-11. I plan on going to WDW, mgm, Animal Kingdom, sea world and Universal.

I have 10 & 5 yr old boys and the youngest has always wanted to follow his big brother. It helps that the younger is rather fearless and the elder is sometimes a wimp.

The younger one was okay height wise to ride most rides and the only thing he bailed on was EE(but has decided he wants to try a coaster in May).

I'd plan on splitting the family - have the one and three year old go back to the resort - or sleep in the stroller - or ride the train around the MK - for an hour or two with Mom. Dad takes the eight year old with FastPasses collected that morning and checks off the Mountains.

The VAST majority of things at Disney (haven't been to Universal - haven't been to Seaworld in years) are toddler appropriate. Figure out what isn't, and plan on doing those things during nap time. Also, it may not be bad to split up for the first hour in the morning - the first hour can get you most of the way through Fantasyland and on two of three mountains (and maybe three).

We stuck together for the most part, especially on our first couple of trips.

But sometimes I took the older DD to Frontierland to do the mountain rides and DH took the younger DD to Adventureland to do Aladdin and the Tikki Room. Then we'd meet again and do Fantasyland. Cell phones come in handy for this.

We also separate at MGM sometimes. I take older DD to ToT and RnR while DH takes younger DD to the shows.

I don't think we've ever separated at AK or Epcot though.

I prefer sticking together. Its usually DH who suggests we separate.

we always separate. DH and DD don't like the larger rides while DS and I love them. We would usually met at noon and have lunch and then spend the rest of the day together.

My kids are really spread out age wise, they are now 23, 16 and 10 so we really don't have to separate like we use to.

We usually stay offsite, which means napping in strollers.

I have dsd13, dss12, ds4, ds2 (ages for our trip in July). We will stay together for the most part, but will split for the big rides and during afternoon quiet/nap times. We will also split for attractions like Playhouse Disney (MGM), the Mountains (MK), and will split for the bigger rides in AK (Everest, Dinosaur). If the big kids want to go on a ride that is too big for the little ones we will either babyswap or go to a toddler friendly area.

I think our biggest challenge will be Universal where there isnt as many toddler friendly attractions/areas.

And to keep the little ones happy, we would usually run for a fast pass for a bigger ride and then hit an area for the little ones. The older kids can wait a bit longer for the rides/gratification unlike the little ones. Have fun!! November is a wonderful time to go!!
