Does anyone know if fullsize SUV would have that much more trunk space than a midsized SUV? I have rented a midsized SUV for our family of 4 for end of August, and am concerned we will not fit all of our luggage in it. It would be $100 more to upgrade to fullsize and didn't know if it was worth it and if I would gain that much more trunk space.

Kind of depends on how much you pack. However, I would expect you could fit your luggage in a mid-size SUV. :moped:

SUVs don't have trunks.

How are you getting from your house to the airport? Does all your luggage fit in that?

FWIW, I've put our family of 5 & luggage (three checked bags, 5 carryons) in a full size CAR.

We are taking a car service to airport and they recommended a minivan.

thanks....this helps...it seems that full size holds 1 extra bag

and two extra people. The standard might be more in line of what you are looking for. Same amount of people as the midsize, but, one more bag than the midsize.

Sometimes due to the best price we go with a full size car, usually a Chevy Impala. The trunk on the car is quite roomy. There are 4 of us. We pack a lot. We generally check 2 large suitcases, 2 medium, 1 small and a duffel bag with toiletries and such. Then each of us carries on a small suitcase or a tote bag plus each of us will also have a personal item. One of the small suit cases sits between the kids in the car and the personal items/tote bag also come with us in the car. It is a tight fight but it has always worked out.

The new, 2013, Impala has an 18.6 cubic foot trunk, you can fit bodies in that. :) I would chose an Impala over a SUV any day.
