DH and I have always stayed at BC in the past, but we were thinking of renting points to stay at BCV this time because we'll be bringing our 16 month old twins with us for the first time. Is there something we should know about staying at BCV that we might not be thinking of? Will we like it as much? Thanks!

If you are renting a 1 bedroom villa, beware the extra space is seriously addictive. Remember if you rent points you don't get the daily maid service. You get all the other ammenities of the resort.

I take you want the washer/dryer - they are only in the 1-bedroom and up.

a 1-bedroom is about 2 maybe 3 times bigger than a WDW resort room.

you will love the king bed also the whirlpool tub~~~

a studio has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa - would serious suggest a 1-bedroom for traveling with little ones.

eliza61 is right you don't get daily housekeeping.

bcv is further out than BC - so the views are not that great. It has some nice views of Epcot (my opinion) but some people actually preferr the swimming pool view because of the service road and the road leading to the resort. ( I don't)

If you can get a discount, like AP or something, it may be comparable in price to renting points, without the trust issue or lack of daily housekeeping. I just booked 9 nights directly through Disney for a 1br BCV for the beginning of June. It'll cost more, at about $500 per night, but I have control over the reservation (I'm debating still about exactly how many nights, but probably 9) and I won't worry if we change plans (I think the timeframe is more forgiving than renting points). If they come out with an AP discount, I'll buy AP's for me and the kids and plan another trip later in the year (that's how they get me!).

The washer/dryer and size, and kitchen convenience are the draw for me! I think you'll like that the twins could nap in their own room (if they need a nap in the room, my kids would do it in the stroller at Disney mostly). You can make snacks or meals if you want, and pack lightly and do wash every day in your own room.

You have some valid points about renting form a owner. I just hate to see you pay $1,800 more for your room. :(

I just booked a 1br villa myw with dining for 5nights in Sept for 3189.55 thru AAA.That is about $700 less then what Disney quoted me!!!I am just worried that once I stay in a villa I won't want to stay anywhere else LOL!

:woohoo: Actually, I talked my husband into sitting down with the DVC people while we are there. My bil just bought @ SSR and keeps singing praises ...so maybe my husband will give in.I have wanted to buy into DVC since the beginning.
