Difference between 800 number and CRO?

WDTC vs. CRO

Looking at the link in the previous post, it says that WDTC will require a $200 deposit regardless of what you reserve. It says that CRO will require a deposit amounting to 1 night's stay plus tax.

The info also says that if you book online, you are going through WDTC. However, when I went online to price some rooms, the deposit it said was required was $165. If this was WDTC, I would have expected to pay a $200 deposit.

Anybody have any answers to this?

I booked my reservation through the 1-800-828-0228 number. I had to put down a one night deposit and the rest is due at check-in. They also told me I could cancel up to five days before the reservation with no penalty.
So, obviously the info on the website is not correct (unless there is a different 800#)

In going through and making a room only reservation online, there's a link to look at the terms and conditions. The link is broken so I can't actually read the terms but the term page is called "popup_cro_terms.html" which make me think I am making a reservation through CRO online.

I used the 800 # also and it's a 1 night deposit and 5 day cancellation. I was told that there is no CRO anymore.

It depends on what you are booking. Some things like certain codes (three letter codes) can only be booked through CRO's booking engine. WDTC cannot book them. Those will get the one night's deposit.

If you call 800-828-0228 you will get WDTC. If you call 800-421-3732 you will get CRO, and you can also make dining reservations.

O.K. I have twice needed to make Dining reservations early in the morning...

I called the regular WDW-DINE on my regular phone and called one of the 1-800 numbers on my cellphone and held each phone up to each of my ears... stereo Disney wait music! Both times the 1-800 number was answered first... Now, I can't remember which 1-800 number it was of the two...

Someone might should experiment with this and see what they find...

I booked a room only through the 877-939-3732 and was told the same info. When we called back to changed it to a package (DV 4/7), it was different. The balance was due 45 days before we arrive. I think it was still only one nights deposit though.

Calling any of the numbers puts you through to the same switchboard......you get the same electronic prompts and choices. The only difference is:
- with a (407) #, you pay for the call.
- with an (800) #, Eisner pays for the call.

And YES you CAN apply three-letter codes to your reservation through WDTC. I did it two weeks ago. I called 800-828-0228 and used code BBY for my room-only reservation. They require a one-night deposit, just like everything else.

The only thing that's different is if you book on-line. Back in January, I booked my reservations at the Polynesian on-line. Then, when the codes came out 2 weeks ago, I called the 800 #. She told me that she couldn't apply them to a reservation made on-line because that's a completely different reservation system. I had to make a NEW reservation with the code, then cancel the old reservation. She also said that I had to put a new deposit down, then she had to credit my old deposit back to my card.

YES, you can make ALL of your dining PSs, dinner-show reservations and Fantasmic! dinner-package reservations by using that same 800 #.

Why pay long distance charges (especially the way they like to keep you on hold sometimes) when Eisner will do it for you? :hyper:

I always use the 800-828 #,,and they answer "WDTC". However. I think the only difference is,,it depends on what you're wanting. I've NEVER gotten a package deal,,we ALWAYS get Room only ressies. And they take care of it. I don't get transferred elsewhere. I get 14 days to call back w/a credit card to make the deposit(or i could mail it in,,or do it right then),oh,and the deposit is 1 night,,then i pay the balance when i check in. And theres a 5 day cancellation policy. We just went,,and my brother got the Kids stay and play free deal,,(a package)and they had the deal where they had the 45 day cancellation and had to have it paid in advance and all that. I think the only difference is if you want a room only ressie vs. a package. You can achieve both via any of the disney phone #'s-the 407 one,,or either 800's. I always have a room only code,,and the WDTC agent who answers the phone books it for me just fine. 1 night deposit,,balance due at check in,and a 5 day cancellation policy.

I used 1-800-828-0228 WDTC to book with the AP code, I have 1 night deposit and 5 day cancellation policy. The girl was wonderful, I booked some dining reservations, she informed me of the park hours and even gave me the dates and times for Spectromagic. Why should I pay for a call when I can get the same things toll free?

I did this, I made my reservations online at beginning of feb, and even paid it all off, then I called up to use the summer dream maker code, and they are supposed to send me back $195.10(but I cannot view my ressies online anymore, but we called and they said it was ok, and we also already got the passes in the mail(going april 23rd)
